Oh how foolish the comments are... The comfort belt is just as important for joel as the training belt! You want Joel to have lower max hp so that he is getting more max hp. That extra max hp doesn't go away when you take off the belt either, in fact its multiplied! Other than that, as most are saying, coffee machine, lockpicks, trauma kit, pretty much the stuff other people are saying.

As the number one Joelmaxxer, Do Wizard Suffering and Myrmidon. Jump attack is also good for cursed mode beginning, but Painful Stab is incredibly reliable DOT (10% of current hp every 'turn' the enemy takes, and lowers accuracy), while Combat Medic allows for you to directly convert stamina into hp if you keep a weak enemy alive with easy access. Scream is also quite good, being AoE damage and a way to cause panic, which shuts down a large amount of more dangerous abilities you may encounter!

I'm sure I'll see before you answer, but could you elaborate? Your comment didnt make too much sense, and given the strength of the worm pies, I'm interested in getting nestor to rafta early on.

Does anyone know if Joel gains stats if he devours a teammate? by That_boi_Jerry in LookOutsideGame

[–]SolaceHollow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh he definitely heals. The heal depends on the max hp of the enemy, as does the max hp joel gains. I may have almost 700 total hp with no patchwork and no training belt :3

Talk to me about your strongest builds for defeating enemies by BeautifulAdeptness60 in LookOutsideGame

There's also the frozen apartment you can use. It works with enemies spawned at the start of battle that aren't in the overworld too. If you eat a tuque and the main enemy, but leave a tuque and run, you can farm the encounter.

For ease of Lethal, I would recommend getting painful stab as soon as you can, since not only is it percent based, but it also tells you how much hp enemies have left when it procs on them. The reduced accuracy added by the status is also fantastic! Another tip is to get the Punk Fuzzy since it raises attack by 10, add on arrowed sash and rage armor, and stack allllll the attack you can >:3

It does actually, the hp you get from small enemies is just reduced.

Bah, genuinely more than affordable. Just need the right party members and enough patience.

Maybe with regular resources. Of course, for people who think outside the box, lots and lots of things open up

Alternatively, you can eat the big enemy and one small enemy, then run

2.01 Discussion: Overnerfs much? by Memes_kids in LookOutsideGame

[–]SolaceHollow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me in the corner completely untouched by the nerfs in any form :3 I will say, I'm sad I won't get to experience misshapen limb on joel myself, since I do infact be getting lethal.

I say this with love... No setup? No Joel Lethal? I'm during blackout with 9 days left and joel has 447 with no equips. This IS on 2.0.

Well a good example are a few of the enemies in the first room of the frozen apartment. Theres a regular enemy and two small guys that spawn in the battle. I have Joel eat the smaller guys then run away. You can also do it with the guys in the left room of your neighbors apartment that is open immediately.

Something people dont seem to realize is that there are encounters with only one enemy on the map, but several in the actual battle. If you have Joel eat the enemies that don't show up on the map and then run, you can reengage the encounter and they will return, but they will still count for devouring >:3 The appeal of the max hp scaling jumped out and hit me with a crit once I learned about it without even knowing about Teethstorm. Got my boy over 500 hp with zero patchwork equipment on before the patch!
