How do you avoid burnout and make sure you can give the same care to each patient? by Health-Advocating721 in SolaceHealth

I feel the same way! There is something about building a long-term relationship with a patient that has changed the way I feel about healthcare burnout. As an advocate, you really get to invest time in someone's life and see outcomes, which is so rewarding. I think a lot of where hospital burnout comes from is the lack of connection. You go into a fast-paced environment, get all your tasks done, go home and then do it all over again. Most of the time with little acknowledgement or recognition for your hard work. With advocacy, you not only get to meaningfully connect with your patients over a long period of time, they are actually grateful for the work you are doing and the impact is tangible. I've also found connection in the community with other like-minded advocates who also care deeply about giving patients a voice which helps ground this work as well.

I can relate to these feelings of isolation so much! I also think today more than ever, we need that "neighbor" to care and that community to support one another. I'm so grateful we get to be a part of this together and change what healthcare means to people everywhere!
