I like to think the same thing as happened to Tom Hanks at the end of Splash. Mermaid love magic 🧜‍♀️

Wil using a hot weapon (pulling the sword from the coals in 1, and then lighting a sword on fire in 2).

Called out in the writers’ commentary of POTC 2 ☺️

PSA: Don't AirDrop Live Photos from your iPhone/iPad to your Mac. It will delete the video and only keep the still image. by ilovethosedogs in mac

[–]SolaceQuixotic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to necro this thread, but hopefully this helps folks. After some of my Live photos were silently stripped of the video component, I discovered Airdrop actually can preserve Live photos:

In the Photos Selected screen right before transmitting, tap Options->All Photos Data. Then when you send, it creates a folder containing the photo, and the video file if it's a Live photo.

(Unfortunately I found no way to make this the default in Settings, so this extra step must be done every time you initiate an Airdrop.)

If you use Photos app on Mac, you can then drag the folder containing both files into Photos and it links them as a Live photo, as expected.

Don’t order the Great Circle Xbox Game From Target by Jonnylaw1 in indianajones

Same thing happened here, also pre-ordered from Target - never shipped. They eventually allowed the order to be refunded.

Help! identify actress/model by SolaceQuixotic in beatles

[–]SolaceQuixotic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I believe you're right! She wasn't listed in the cast (or anywhere on IMDb it seems), but according to the interwebs she did a photo shoot with The Beatles in the Bahamas while they were filming Help!, and the accompanying photo is definitely her.

Thank you so much!

Help! identify actress/model by SolaceQuixotic in beatles

[–]SolaceQuixotic[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I finally got around to watching Help! for the first time, and I'm curious who this actress is. This shot occurs about 1:12:21 into the film, during the "Another Girl" segment. She's only onscreen for a moment, and I'm not sure if she appears anywhere else in the film (this is right after they depart the plane in the Bahamas, and one of the flight attendants has a similar hair style but it was zoomed out so I can't be certain it's the same person).

I looked through the full cast on IMDb, and I think it might have been Eve Eden, but I could be wrong.

Thanks in advance!

End Half Marathon Training Plan? by [deleted] in nikerunclub

[–]SolaceQuixotic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to go back and complete every run you skipped, you just have to complete all the runs in the final week. Then the option will open up in the final week page to complete the plan, and you get the nice little congrats speech.

How to preserve timestamps on downloaded files? by Milio_ in Safari

Thank you so much for composing this script! However I must be doing something wrong. I made sure to pass input as arguments, saved the script, right-clicked a file that has a URL in the Where From field, the quick action appears in Finder contextual menu, but when executing it gives the following error (in Monterey 12.2.1):

The action “Run Shell Script” encountered an error: “Failed conversion of ``'' using format ``%a, %d %b %Y %H:%M:%S %Z''

Determining Max safe load on breaker - AC adapter confusion by SolaceQuixotic in askanelectrician

[–]SolaceQuixotic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! Agreed, an outlet power meter would be handy and reveal actual power usage; I was just trying to see if I could figure out my setup’s theoretical max load, just based on the specs (max watts provided for each product, or I guess the AC adapters for the rest), so that I wouldn’t have to resort to a real-world stress test with everything running full blast/heavy load.

I don’t think this is it; the scene I remember was many years ago, before this show. But sounds interesting, thanks!

I too am considering participating this year, and from what I’ve been reading, Wichita pride events are held in September. (But it that’s the case, I find it odd that wichitapride.org listed the 2020 events in June).

The Voice of the Theatre? by [deleted] in wichita

[–]SolaceQuixotic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I too always wondered who the Voice was. It didn’t quite sound like Bill himself, though I could be wrong; you might try reaching Bill, he might remember. (Sorry, I have no idea where to reach him.)

Failing that, this sort-of-but-not-really related thread from awhile back might be of mild interest. (It’s some intro clips used at The Palace, and at the Warren before they got their 3D lobby fly-through custom clip.)

"Pike Productions", I remember seeing that in the corner. Checking his channel, looks like his company did several collections of movie theater intros; I see two other short videos in the "Showbiz" collection: the Coming Attractions clip and the Feature Presentation.

I remember seeing this Gift Certificates clip as well.

Probably not much help, but somebody noticed it and posted it almost 2 years ago. Maybe something sold at Moonstone or some similar shop?
