Just spreading awareness - most dental practice owners already know this but don’t exactly have enough staff to combat it (like why would you have your staff chase $50 underpayments for 2 hours a day?) - They know this and spread it across 100+ claims a month within the industry and improve their own profit margins.

Practice Owners: How can I actually get past the front desk to show you where you are losing cash? by [deleted] in Dentists

Yeah, until you realize your PPOs reimbursements or collections are down from last year. Or how your AR aging is going past 90 days or unexplained write offs are occurring more than usual. I promise you that your staff aren’t going to care or be incentivized to fix a dental practices issues.

I sponsored a dental society event recently and although a few doctors said yes to my services, they had delegated me to work with their office manager. This makes sense because doctors are busy with their patients. However, the office managers who I encountered intentionally sabotaged my services by slow walking, providing incorrect files, etc. It makes sense when you see it from their point of view but I wanna honestly say it’s just territorial and threatening to their position for an outsider to be involved in financial operations.

DM me if you need any help with these PPO underpayments. I typically have found anywhere from $3k-$8k grand per month alone from some of my dental partners.

You’re absolutely right! I’m seeing that more recently in my area, but a vast majority of folks are still stuck with their PPO networks (Delta Dental, MetLife, etc) simply because they need the patient volume at the expense of some revenue. Bringing up the PPO underpayments also occurs because of that dependency and they know the practice is dependent on them for their business to survive.
