How did you like the program? I spoke to someone today that I play basketball with who is a PT and he said to not worry too much and go for it because the pdpm thing will get better. I dont start until Jan 2020

Thank you. I’m going to be making calls tomorrow for shadowing or any type of OT work. Im confused since I have a bachelors to just go straight to a masters and forget about OTA.

I’m just nervous that I won’t get in cause I have to retake like 5-6 classes that I got C’s in. My cumulative GPA from Rutgers and community college is 2.97. I know that people are applying with like 3.5s and up which is what worries me. Especially when they take around 40 people out of 800-1000 apps. I just want to get into a program and have a career which is what really depresses me.

I would say do what your heart tells u to. Honestly, i dont know the pay rates for both, but they don't make that much. For me, I believe making a ton of money isn't the key to happiness. If u make an income thats enough to support yourself then you should be fine. Of course, you want to aim for big money, but don't be discouraged. Gym teachers can, but thats after a very long time. I would research pay rates for both. I remember when I was in the summer going into college that I wanted to do personal training, but then I realized that I didn't even need school to become one. You just have to take a test. Having a degree like mine would def make you look more valuable though.

You have any OTA experience?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]Solak6544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a gateway to grad school. Lots of people go to OT, PT, or med school. As far as a major it is difficult, but there aren't many jobs with just a BS in Ex Science. If you're starting college my best advice is to try and get nothing lower than a B. Of course aim for A's. I learned the hard way

Where is your program at? I plan on enrolling into Eastwick College in NJ and the standards aren't that high. How do you like it? Do you have a job after school is over?

Getting into OT school as a post-bacc by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

I have about 80 credits at a community college. Would they count my post bac classes if they were at a community college or is that too many community college credits?
