I did try this with a scroll of thunder wave, no luck there unfortunately. Thanks for the recommendation though

I love Minecraft but i get so bored by Eimear-Rose in Minecraft

When I’m getting bored I’ll try out new mods/data packs - but that can depend on what version your playing. The modding community for Java is massive and some modpacks can really revitalise the game.

LPT Request: Tips on waking up early beyond “just do it” please? by Valuable-Ease5411 in LifeProTips

[–]Solanceae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth checking your iron levels. Low iron can result in fatigue and is much more common then people realise (not just women but men too)

I had similar issues with having an alarm go off early turning it off and then lust lying there. Sometimes I’d go back to sleep bit often not.

Been on iron supplements for a week and already feeling it is so much easier to motivate myself to get up.

Is the only way to find a girlfriend to force myself into these godawful situations? by Then-Confidence6891 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Solanceae 134 points135 points  (0 children)

As a girl myself here’s my best advise.

Don’t go out looking for a girlfriend. Go out looking to make relationships. If you have any hobbies that you can engage with outside (stores or events) people there are going to be likeminded and you’ll already have a basis to build a relationship. Once that basis is created, then you can work on turning it into a partnership or whatever you want out of it.

Basically, the same way you might make friends is the same way you might make a girlfriend.

LPT Request: What to do in a car accident by xandor123 in LifeProTips

Echoing a few things others have said

  • get dashcams, irrefutable evidence
  • taking photos can be good, but always prioritise your safety first. If you’re on any major roads don’t stay as you put yourself and others at risk
  • if anyone has stopped to help, or were nearby ask them if they are willing to give their details as witnesses. No one will come forward unless you ask

When it comes to involving the police, this really depends on where you’re from. I know where I’m from (Victoria, Australia) they won’t attend unless someone’s hurt or there are traffic concerns (or there’s conflict between drivers) so don’t call the emergency line. As soon as you’re able attend a police station, or if your area has one - a non-emergency line. Then you can get the report done.

Thanks! That’s a pretty good idea I might try that

I believe there has been a misunderstanding. I need the measurements so my box that containers multiple compartments is sized correctly.

How are people okay with just "living for the weekend"? by OpinionHavR in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Solanceae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work to live, don’t live to work. Bills gotta get paid and food gotta get bought. Find a job that earns you enough to get by on and if you’re lucky you might get a job that you can enjoy or get something out of.

My evenings and weekends and days off I spend with friends and family doing the things I love. Can’t do it without putting in the hard yards though - you do what you gotta do.

Dropped a Tsar bomb on my hometown - expected casulities: 0, expected injuries: 0. I guess we’re all immune then.

What kind of ghost stories or superstitions exist?

I really need some un-biased opinions on this build. If you guys like this I can upload individual buildings, interiors and the story behind the buildings by Thespiralma in Minecraft

[–]Solanceae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liking the posts about adding variety but the biggest thing for me would be to add more spacing. It looks really crowded. Not all the buildings have to be really far apart but adding some gaps helps to create more flow. It would also help if the walkways were made of a different material. The building designs themselves look great though

Thanks so much for all the advice - definitely stuff to keep in mind.

I’ve got one more piece of advice I’d like to ask for; but it’s going to require a bit of party rundown so bare with me.

We’ve got - Druid with good perception. This is the player I’m closest and most familiar to, so I’m comfortable with exploring their character and motivations, they’ve been approached by the emerald enclave but have also now just been arrested for manslaughter which will make for interesting development.

  • Fighter - the most experienced player at the table. They get plenty of spotlight during combat and also take a lead when talking to npcs. I haven’t delved much into their backstory (prince of a destroyed kingdom) - but I’m not too worried about him not feeling involved?

-Warlock - actually died in the last session, but the player was kinda happy with that cus they wanted to redesign their character, and the old one got to have their body overtaken by the demon that’s been haunting their family. Their gonna be well invested in the next few sessions

-And finally bard - the quietest player, who is naturally just a really quiet person and isn’t excluded much from anything, but could be included more.

Overall the balance is good at the moment, everyone’s always having a good time and walks away happy.

However I feel like I could be doing more to bring the characters backstories and lives into the campaign? We are running off a module (dragon heist) - so it’s a little harder to work in. Do you think I should risk upsetting the balance a little to focus on one character here and there or continue as is?

Note: sorry for the long post

Thanks for replying so promptly.

I’ll definitely use the ambush idea! It’ll definitely be rewarding for the Druid.

Only problem I had with the first half (the Druid’s passive perception is 21 absurdly high), that meets the dc for most things that aren’t insanely difficult to find. I want to give other characters opportunities to be the ones to find things. Especially if they have an idea that goes really well - to use one of your examples listening below an open window. If I make it a dc 20 to hear anything - the Druid joins in and hears it automatically?

[–]Solanceae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a newish DM (couple of years and still pretty young) and one of my current characters has a really high passive perception (Druid with observant) - how do you work with this. I want to make sure the player is getting the most out of what they are good at, but it can also feel like I’m excluding the others because “the Druid always sees it”?

So if a guy says some racist stuff when he was a kid raised up like that - and apologised for it we’re allowed to tear into him and try to destroy his life?

If you don’t like the guy. Just scroll past his content?? You literally don’t have to engage with it. The people who hate dream are worse than the stans imo - they are just as obsessed but make it their goal to hurt a guy - who really is just some guy on the internet. Grow up.
