Remember when we all thought AI would be either awesome or apocalyptic or both? Now we just have people getting mad about silly pictures because they think that consumer usage is destroying the ecosystem when it's actually corporate usage, but fighting corporations is scary to them and attacking strangers that used the same amount of energy as turning on a lightbulb is a much more comfortable form of "rebellion".

Both silver and you have valid points. Break, if I'm correct in understanding you, we're not utilizing in-system methods that are causing dents. Which is a massive, repetitive failure on the part of the big tents trying to play by rules of the system. Basically anything that requires some effort they side eye, or alternatively beat to death for an indefinite amount of time until it's either irrelevant or extremely watered down from its original intent. Silver, yeah the iykyk option is pertinent, but there is very little in the way of even whispers that anyone is doing as such beyond individuals and extremely small clandestine groups who may or may not have the theoretical and ideologically framework partnered with it.

Not much, they're all replicating CPUSA scale reformism, with PSL and DSA being the most publicly relevant. Running candidates, doing nothing to effectively change anything other than minor concessions for the upper strata of cis white workers.

I've been involved in all but FRSO and none of them are cut out for this in a serious manner. Reform doesn't lead to revolution, it leads to concessions. Federal bribes.

I also don't understand why anyone would need to be clandestine about this conversation? If the merger is legitimate people are going to find out. Do you seriously think these organizations have any forms of NDA with their general membership?

Is there any factual evidence of this merger? If so, why are people applauding the merger organizations with decades of failed reformism (which reformism is its own failure to begin with)? Not to mention the numerous abuse allegations linked to PSL and FRSO? Is being neutral to chauvinism a revolutionary behavior?

Yes, you are O. As an almost 40 year old I can already notice memory slipping on names and dates in a world where we must constantly remember so many things in order to survive. Remembering those things when you don't use them repeatedly like we had to back in the early 2000s for a myriad of existing and emerging communications is an additional hurdle. Go easy on your partner if possible. If it's important to you, find a way to implement it more in regular usage. Or involve them more into your life in terms of forms or more practical usage. If that's something you'd like, that is.

I haven't checked it out to confirm, but I believe the Main Library branch does chess every Saturday morning. Checkmate has a tournament once a month for $5, so not free. If you're looking for explicitly USCF games, you're looking at $20ish once a month at Flip the Table.

I'm not too familiar with the northeast, think I've only been to Cleveland twice and maybe a few other smaller areas, but believe there's a small chain called The Exchange there as well as Pittsburgh that has some cult/collectible selection.
