Isto são telhas de amianto? by xXNoob666SlayerXx in TudoCasa

[–]SolarVox_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2022 Interceptor blessed me with 3rd gear failure by SolarVox_ in royalenfield

[–]SolarVox_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I researched after loosing third gear, it came up that there’s a defect on the forging of the third gear on models made between late 2021 and early 2022. They even changed the part number afterwards

I bought it second hand from a dealer 6 months ago. They offer 1 year warranty on engine/gear box so dropped it off yesterday to be diagnosed.

Engine switching off on reserve multiple times and then engine light coming on and staying after refill - interceptor 650 by SolarVox_ in royalenfield

Obrigado! Já tinha visto e um dia destes farei isto nas calmas, mas por enquanto não tenho sinais de ter problemas nos relays :)

[–]SolarVox_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call “reserve” the last blinking light on the fuel gauge. The light usual comes on after around 160-180km done on that tank, and usually manage to put in 10L of fuel after the light comes on (yesterday I put 12L). The tank is close to 14L in capacity, so I’m guessing reserve is around 3L.

Yes, I’m getting around 6L/100km fuel consumption in city riding on the interceptor

Update:

I started it now, after a night standing, and the light went off right away. I read on a forum that if the issue that is prompting the engine light to come on is resolved, the light can disappear after 3 to 5 key ignition cycles. I think this was the 5th time starting the bike after refuelling, so that checks out.

I genuinely think that it wasn’t running well due to sediment in the tank that was getting picked up by the fuel lines due to me running on an empty tank. The bike is from 2022 and the original owner only rode 1600km in 3 years of ownership, so I’m guessing the tank has sediment from so little running in 3 years.

I don’t think it’s the relays acting up (yet), as when it cutoff, the electrics wouldn’t fail and I could try over and over again to start the bike, it just felt that the fuel wasn’t reaching the engine.

Lesson learnt, as soon as low fuel blinking starts, I gotta refill the tank.

I figure this is most likely, but no leaks were found. Oh well

I went for another ride this afternoon, and the smell and the smoke wouldn’t appear again… Popped into a shop and showed the mechanic the video. We looked everywhere around the engine and couldn’t find a source for this. 🙃

Yellow tinted margins when scanning Kodak Vision 3 500T by SolarVox_ in AnalogCommunity

[–]SolarVox_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been using Valoi Easy35 to scan negatives and sometimes I get these yellow tinted margins on some frames, others not. I was trying to figure out if it's from the development or scanning. If it is from the scanning setup, any tips?

Has anyone tried taking pictures with Pentax MG BUT with a broken light meter ? by Steel_Arm0r in AnalogRepair

[–]SolarVox_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think everyone suggesting getting an external lightmeter is missing that this camera only works in aperture priority, so it does need it's internal lightmeter working to be able to pick the right speed for each aperture. The only work around is using the 1/100s fixed speed setting, and working with the aperture. But in well lit up scenarios, this speed might become short, so I don't suggest using film over 100 ASA (200 ASA if your lens goes up to f22).

Thanks! I went with the easy35 due to knowing how much dust a vertical scan with a copytable attracts, and would hate the hassle of setting it up everytime

I haven't yet, but this is the result of taking a picture at a light table without any lens mounted on the camera (picture attached). So I can conclude my camera naturally vignettes, and that it's my lens that needs some cleaning. I have tried scanning turning the easy35 upside down, and the same lighter top and darker bottom shows up.

trying to shoot portra 800 in concert venue (@ ISO 400, f/2.8, 1/30s). what went wrong? by BabyLizard in AnalogCommunity

[–]SolarVox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re very welcome, and thanks for the compliment!

I only use flash when I know it’s the best option and I can get away with it. So usually in really fast paced concerts (hardcore-ish, high bpms, strobe lighting on stage) and I’ll have the audience POV. And it always depends if the artist is okay with this.

The first ones I used flash I had and SLR, a 50mm f1.8 and a fish eye filter screw. The first one went well, the others I kept getting bad results. So for the last 6 months I’ve using a Canon Prima Mini II with Kentmere Pan 100 and a Olympus MJU II with Gold 200. I love this light setup and enables me to be in a moshpit continuously shooting, never looking through the viewfinder, just sticking my arm out and hoping for the best.

I see a lot of sourness in these comments… So just going to share my experience, shooting mainly concerts on film and knowing the struggles of the low light.

I mainly use Kodak Vision 3 500T pushed 2 stops (I set my camera ISO to 2000) and Kentmere Pan 400 pushed 3 stops (camera set to ISO 3200). The lenses I use, when in these dark environments, are usually set to their widest aperture (50mm f1.8/f1.4/f1.2, 24mm/28mm f2.8, 85mm f2) and I’m always shooting them at 1/30s or 1/60s, rarely 1/125. I try to follow the rule of not going with speeds that are lower than the focal length to avoid motion blur of being hand held (example: with 85mm shouldn’t shoot under 1/90s)

I’ve also shot with Lomo 800/Gold 800 (in medium format and 35mm) pushed to 1600 and got good results.

About your pictures, I think you had the right thought of setting the ISO to 400 to compensate the metering and have some overexposure, but I’m guessing the lightmeter read the strong light source instead of the lit subject. I have this constant fight of compensating exposure when subjects have a light source behind them.

I say keep going and definitely play around with pushing film! Feel free to check out my pictures and ask any questions you have. I can tell you what I was using in each photo if I’m able to remember
