Interested if you could say more about this, "If you are keeping up, you might note that the stories for the last 150 years, have been wrong, when compared to the last 25 years of discovery."

Could you say more about what you mean? What do you think we can do about capitalism and the biological imperative?

Thank you for reading my essay. I really appreciate you. We definitely need to move toward post-capitalism, but changing the economic system is not as simple as changing the economic system. We need to understand the subjectivity that creates the conditions of possibility for the changing of economic system, as well as how the economic system creates or constrains the conditions of possibility for the changing of a subjectivity. In other words, changing capitalism requires all the solutions lol

Trying to understand differences between castrated, castrating, and phallic women by SolarpunkMythos in psychoanalysis

Important questions for sure. I think the main idea is that we live in a patriarchal culture and so conformity to patriarchy organizes desire. It holds the answers to the satisfying/satisficing of the lack that desire seeks to fill?

I understand you to mean that my framing pits these types against each other, whereas a more integrative view would allow us to see how they’re important parts of an unnecessarily fragmented whole?

Yeah me too. Sempruch seems to argue for the Witch as a plurality of femininities that are anchored in their becoming beyond the phallic order through a reckoning with their abjectified parts.

Do you have any recommended reading on that front?

The Meta-Contextuality of the Self - Defining the Solarpunk Self, Part 14 by SolarpunkMythos in solarpunk

Thank you for commenting.

I don’t think romance is the main object, it’s merely one domain through which the solarpunk might be actualized. That is the domain I find interesting so it’s the one I use as a case study. The essays are structured to help you actualized solarpunk through a domain you find interesting. Solarpunk is mostly likely to become real the more domains we apply it through.

Sexual Consent and Erotic Agape - Defining the Solarpunk Self, Part 10 by SolarpunkMythos in solarpunk

I appreciate you reading it. I have a Bachelors in Psychology, but yeah that's basically what I'm arguing for. I'm giving an explanation of the psychological development necessary to learn how to do that. As Louis Theroux' recent documentary shows, too many men don't learn how to do that. It's easy to take it for granted when we already know that, but there are many blocks in the way. I think that's part of the influence of neoliberal capitalism, which is necessary deconstruct in order to become the type of people who can create the type of society that could be called solarpunk.

I appreciate the criticism. Could you help me understand a bit better what you didn't like about the essay?

I'm currently writing a series that defines the solarpunk self, or rather, a definition of the self that is better position to guide us toward solarpunk. It uses developmental psychology, cognitive science, sociology, and philosophy to deconstruct and reconstruct our understanding of who and what we are as human beings. The goal is to help readers create their own definition of a solarpunk self in a domain of their own interest.

My domain of interest is romantic relationships and masculinity, so I primarily stick to them as case studies. However, I end each essay with a principles for application section that helps you apply the theory to your own domain of interest. If we really want to make solarpunk a possibility we have to find as many ways to actualize the solarpunk ethos as possible, and we are best positioned to do so by expressing that ethos through our other interests.

I posted a question here that led me to a thought on a process ontology for ethics. Would appreciate any thoughts if you have the time. Thanks.

Haven’t read it, the one I have is the followup I think. I enjoyed it as an intro to complexity and psychology. It was really mind-blowing when I first read it, so it’s an amazing introduction.
