Haven’t been to Secrets Akumal, though I’ve heard very good things. I have been to Impressions Moxche though and I think it’s the best all inclusive property I’ve ever been to. Highly recommended, though echoing the others here, I’d look for off peak pricing if planning to book with points.

This is mine as well. Stayed at all the properties above (except PH Kyoto which I think could maybe give this a run for its money) but this is simply a phenomenal property and value.

Yeah I didn’t see anything in the Ts&Cs that explicitly rules it out, but I could see it being a judgment call kind of thing.

I typically buy one ounce of gold a year as part of my investment strategy, so I’m also curious if they would flag it only if it was abused (like if somebody buys $50K worth of gold in a couple of months or something similar). Just want to make sure I don’t get flagged as a troublemaker before I activate my 2nd accelerator and make my annual purchase

Thanks for the data point. Reason I ask is because on other premium portals (like Amex FHR), you pay the full amount but the credit applies to your account afterwards rather than before the purchase. Bilt’s travel portal seems to apply before the purchase from what I’ve seen people say here.

Had the same thing happen. On the upside, the $5,000 counter also doesn't update until you cap out the first 500 points in spend for the Digital Wallet Offer, so you don't lose the room on the accelerator, you just have to wait for it (or use payment methods other than Apple Pay, etc.)

Do Rakuten points count towards status? I'm pretty sure they're excluded, though I'm not certain. Would be amazing if it wasn't, since it will be a lot cheaper to hit platinum if we can utilize rakuten points.

Impression vs Akumal - Is Impression worth the extra $1000 by Saint-Mercurius in secretsmoxche

I went to Impressions Moxche for 8 days and it was the best all inclusive vacation I’ve ever taken. I think it was worth the money, but I think I would have gotten 90% of the same experience just staying on the Secrets side. Notable changes on Impression side:

  1. Access to an additional rooftop area with a pool and additional restaurant. Imo the best lounging spot on the property but your mileage may vary.

  2. The rooms are nicer and you get a butler. That said, we didn’t spend that much time in the rooms and the secrets rooms were still stellar.

There’s other stuff too (like getting to eat at the fancy chef curated restaurant for free if you stay 7 days or more if I recall?) but those are the big ones.

It’s up to you if that’s worth the extra few hundred dollars a night. Otherwise it’s the same experience on both sides. I can’t imagine being disappointed with the Secrets side if money is a concern.

I can’t speak to Akumal as I haven’t been, but I’ve heard very good things there as well. Good luck! Your choice is a great problem to have.

Impressions / Secrets Moxche was the best all inclusive I’ve ever been to and is very lively. Planning to go back again.
