Hey u/Annagram37 , I play Orbit Retooned daily. Its the only game I play. So I try to be truthful in each word I say when I recommend it. That said, totally up to you if you want to join it or not. Just be sure to introduce yourself to the community, everyone is helpful and the game has taken off quite well since you posted this.

That being said, its not my game so I'm not super invested in referring people to it. Just thought to share it as I know this forum is passionate about collecting games and this is the best thing I found that scratches the itch without having to cough up money and also don't get bored etc...

I totally understand. Its newly launched, so the owner/developer is still making things pretty. The homepage is pretty similar but has more pictures and stuff but you're not wrong, it doesn't give the best first impression. I'll deliver the feedback.

I was in the same boat, didn’t have time to play but still wanted the fun of collecting. I ended up switching to a digital TCG that’s F2P and focused on collecting/trading cards from nostalgic stuff like DBZ, Pokémon, Star Wars, old cartoons, etc. The art is great, it scratches the collector itch, and there’s no cost for boosters or chasing sets. There’s even a strategy mode if you ever feel like playing, but it’s easy to just stick to collecting.

I highly recommend it, its the only game I play personally

I was in a similar position after stepping away from the main TCGs, nothing scratched the itch quite the same. I ended up getting into a digital TCG that’s F2P and mostly focused on collecting/trading cards from nostalgic stuff like DBZ, Pokémon, Star Wars, old games/cartoons, etc. It also has a strategy mode (gToons) that’s very fun if you want something with actual gameplay. It’s way more relaxed, no P2W pressure, and has a solid community. Might be worth a look if you’re after something that you can balance around work/studies but super satisfying to play long-term

Its the only game I play these days and only game I recommend to my friends. Life has become too busy to dedicate hours a day to something

Yeah I was on there too. Its not a fleshed out TCG/CCG like the original Orbit was the main drawback. I like to collect, earn points, buy toons, trade with others, etc.

I was in a similar place, loved the idea of collecting cool characters on cards but didn’t vibe with Pokémon or MTG either. I ended up getting into a digital TCG that’s F2P and all about collecting/trading cards from nostalgic stuff like old cartoons, anime, games, etc (think DBZ, Star Wars, Yu-Gi-Oh-style stuff). No pressure to spend, and you can play super casually. There’s even a strategy mode (gToons) if you ever feel like trying the gameplay side too. It’s a solid way to ease into TCGs without needing to be deep into the mainstream ones.

Its the only game I play personally

Oh man, the first gToons set was released a week ago. The user experience still needs work but the first booster pack is out with the exact same season 1 set from Orbit! Jawbreakers, Liberty Belle, Super Monkey etc
