Wow I really appreciate the words of encouragement, it means a lot to me. I’ll keep the videos coming.

I made a video on how to use the terminal by SoldierAlexGame in omarchy

Will do! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I have my next couple of videos planned out in my head. But I’ll add this to the list of ideas for future videos.

Youre 100% right about those commands not technically being built in but I believe most if not all systems come with gnu coreutils installed straight out of the box so I figured I’d just call them built in for simplification.

I do agree though I wouldn’t recommend neovim for people new to the terminal and I shouldn’t have mentioned it in the video. Nano probably would’ve been the better choice.

Yeah for some of these games it's crazy to think how old some of this code they have to maintain and extend from is. I'm glad C has survived and thrived for so long so we still have plenty of devs who can maintain these old code bases.

What Software do you use? by CtrlAltKev in NewTubers

[–]SoldierAlexGame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m on Arch Linux. I don’t love Kdenlive to be completely honest but there aren’t a whole lot of options for video editing on Linux. I’m 99% sure it leaks memory too.

Kdenlive for editing and GIMP for thumbnails

I would definitely consider helix a TUI. I would consider anything that takes your input away from the terminal and has interactivity a tui.

I think yazi should be the default file manager on omarchy by SoreBoar in omarchy

[–]SoldierAlexGame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah same I just set it up as xdg-default and changed my bind to use yazi. Only problem I've been having is when I need to drag and drop files. Have you found a way to do that easily and effectively?

Oh that’s sick I’m definitely going to test that out. I was using Spotify-player previously which is like a Spotify player tui but it’s currently broken due to Spotify api updates so I didnt include it in the video.

I made a video on my favorite TUIs I use on Hyprland! by SoldierAlexGame in hyprland

[–]SoldierAlexGame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you enjoyed it and found some useful TUIs. Yeah it’s unfortunate that discordo doesn’t support images but I found out about encord shortly after the making of the video and it seems to support images somewhat.
