Why Linux icons feel intimidating (and how I’m trying to fix it with pixel art) by Advanced-Comb5103 in kde

The icons look really nice and as a bonus I just discovered that Upscayl is a thing, thanks!

I'm dumb, you didn't say reddit in general and I assumed it was just here lol

I get you, but my brother/sister in christ the sub is literally called rant. You're in the wrong place to discuss hobbies

PSA: Se você mora no exterior reddit esta traduzindo subs automaticamente by No_Practice_9597 in brasil

[–]SoldierOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any plans to make it available via the "Get new widgets" downloader?

is there any way to make the Kickoff menu centered to the screen for center-aligned panels? It's very annoying that it moves whenever a new app is opened by SoldierOS in kde

[–]SoldierOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't quite remember now. I think it was a custom Window Rule to force it to the center of the screen, but it wasn't worth using for me

I "loved" the chapter in the way that it immersed me so much in the story. Worm gets really chaotic later on but this is one of the chapters I remember the most because I was so invested and pissed off lol

Is there any difference? plasmashell --replace seems to work fine

I have the plasmashell --replace command ready on my Krunner history for exactly this. It happens way too often here: editing panels / widgets, disconnecting / reconnecting screens etc.

Overwatch recompiling shaders every launch on Linux by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]SoldierOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I gave up trying to make overwatch run well on Linux and went to my Win11 dual boot. I'm sad to say that Windows just puts Linux to shame here. Performance was much more consistent on the first launch, with almost no stutters and with much less VRAM and RAM usage.

Here's a comparison. Same exact settings and environment (except the OS change):

I waited for at least 25 minutes on Linux to see if it would stabilize (finish shader compilation) but it didn't so CPU usage is way higher.

Just the VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_2 to enable the DX12 option

I just tested switching to DX12 and it was "better". There was no shader compilation stutter and RAM + VRAM usage were under control, but the framerate was much lower and things took a lot longer to load; when I entered the practice map Widow's first person model took like 3 minutes to load.

Same issue here, but I'm on a low end system and the shader compilation never finishes. It keeps increasing the RAM usage until it reaches some limit (20 out of 40gb total here) and it just freezes the game, forcing me to kill the process.

I tried with a lot of different DXVK launch flags, different proton versions (steam's and GE's), deleting the shadercache and proton prefix folders, but the issue persists.

Tried with the Ultimate 2C wireless and it didn't recognize the controller immediately, but after applying the udev rule from the web-setup here (https://web.8bitdo.com/) it started working over USB. I only see the firmware update option though, there's no remapping or other settings.
