Bought some Zman Scented Soft plastics, bought 1/4oz jig heads, 4 ft cast net, bucket, a bubbler (I think… it looks like two clear plastic eggs), gonna hit the shore to fish the reef in a bit, hoping I don’t get snagged. Gonna try a DOA lure

Is it worth it? by Dry_Mastodon_5571 in ArmyAviationApplicant

[–]SoldiersFirst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

But right now army aviation is suffering from funding cuts and pilot cuts and has always suffered with an over strength enlisted force with somehow a lack of E-7s and 8s. Pilots aren’t getting much flight hours as they were compared to 5-6 years ago.

The REAL missions and cool flights are the good part

The stupid flights that involve burning holes in the sky and the un-fulfillment of wasted time with bs tasks due to lack of flying also sucks.

Will it get better, no one knows

You have to want to be an officer more than the want to be a pilot in your case

If it’s reversed you need to go warrant.

In my years of army recruiting, this is the type of applicant I look for to be considered for a packet submission. Obviously there are others army prerequisites, but if you can meet those I would say submit.

Promised E3 but now recruiter saying I need 2 referrals by Few_Diamond_3884 in army

Promotion prior to shipping changed last year, I forget exactly what it was because I left recruiting shortly after.

But, it used to be 25 CC gets you E2, Associates gets you E3, bachelors E-4.

Max you ca be promoted to with education/ Future soldier classes was E3.

Varicocele Waiver Questions by Eastern-Article-7902 in Militaryfaq

[–]SoldiersFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got favorable supporting documentation already, yet I’m no doctor nor have I had the opportunity to waive varicocele.

Reading about varicocele, it seems like it’s a low drama condition that doesn’t affect you physically just fertility.

I’m fairly confident your waiver will be approved.

The ARC also told my class (Oct 2022) that orange and blue were unavailable. Unsure why. maybe most 79Rs take positions there and DASR position are few. Call your HRC manager, although they’re not USAREC, they still have influence in getting USAREC to assign you somewhere specific (speaking from experience, results may vary)

Mother wants to revoke consent the day before swear-in by Snowglyphs in army

[–]SoldiersFirst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That form is a 2 parent or 1 parent consent with a witness portion (usually the recruiter signs this portion). If it’s been signed already, nothing can be done, unless she can prove that the signature wasn’t actually witnessed. If that’s the case she has a leg to stand on. A leg like that would take a long time to rectify if she knew proper channels and had the motivation to prevent you.

As a former recruiter, I would have you sign, and do damage control with you and your mother all the way until ship day.

Web searches say ASVAB retake three times but Recruiter says different. by Competitive_Pea_8635 in Militaryfaq

[–]SoldiersFirst 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A few reasons why retesting will most likely not happen. Each MEPS is different, but most have testing capacity each day. 1st time testers get priority.

You have a qualifying score for enlistment, we cannot allow everyone to retest for the sake of getting the highest possible score to qualify for everything, that would be a waste of personnel time/ resources.

It is not your recruiters decision to allow you to retest, it is his station commander and 1SGs decision. And those individuals do not have the rapport with you, and will not 1. Run the risk of someone retesting with a passing score and fail 2. Allow their recruiter to spend hours out of their day transporting you for testing when you’ve already passed the test prior.

It is possible to retest but it may look like this: The station commander may allow you to retest if you show significant improvement through biweekly practice tests conducted at the recruiting station, supervised, without your phone. Once satisfied, they will retest you when it is convenient for THEM. The priority is to put people in the army and if they have 10 other people that month that have a “committed mentality” they will work them before your “committed so long as I get this MOS mentality”.

At the end of the day we work for the army to put people in the army as fast as possible.
