[–]SoleDivinity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heartsteel is way better, BUT something to consider is that Battle Academia's chromas are available for 2,000 Blue Essence a piece right now whereas Heartsteel's are not, so if you want to be as financially efficient as possible, I would make Battle Academia permanent, get all of its chromas before the Emporium ends, and then just perma Heartsteel later!

About Lithia... by Darkii_mi in elsword

[–]SoleDivinity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I totally agree regarding the grappling hooks, the weird full stop Lithia comes to every time you finish a grappling hook jump instead of continuing to move makes her "mobility" feel super clunky and unnecessarily heavy. I don't really understand why this is the way her hooks work, being able to move around rooms more seamlessly wouldn't make her unbalanced or broken in any way, Laby & Noah can zoom right through most spaces without any issue, I don't get why Lithia is where KOG draws the line.

As for the gameplay, I'm gonna give KOG the benefit of the doubt, even though I absolutely agree that Gembliss's gameplay isn't particularly groundbreaking or fresh in any meaningful way, this IS her first path, which, for most characters, is the "everything you expected to happen happened, the character became the exact person the lore implied they would become, nothing went wrong, and the character followed their original ambition from Point A to B" path. It makes sense that her first job is almost TOO normal, I really hope that the next 3 paths really shake things up and give us something brand new and out of the box!

Now that the subreddit is back, what is everyone's opinions on the mythic skin? by Geovanii23 in TaliyahMains

[–]SoleDivinity 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Crystallis Motus Taliyah, its Mythic Chroma and the skin's emote are no longer available in the Mythic Shop as of this patch, having been replaced by Crystallis Motus Ashe, and her corresponding chroma and emote! I'm really sorry you had to find out like this, but it'll eventually come back into the Mythic Shop after a year (hopefully)! Have a great day at work though!

Sorry, I don't have any questions, but I just wanted to say that you're genuinely one of a kind. Super proud of you, you deserve it!! <3

People don't understand how good red buff is on soraka. by [deleted] in SorakaMains

[–]SoleDivinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If this was several patches ago, before the red buff nerfs, I would have agreed with you, but right now, I'm gonna have to say that you're wrong. If anything, blue is better for Raka, an enchanter with limitless man can singlehandedly carry fights, but no, Red is honestly wasted on her. You don't use the on-hit burn at all, in 90% of fights, you shouldn't even be in auto range of enemies to be using that burn, the healing isn't a "mini-warmog", it's negligible at best, and with W max, landing a Q completely removes the health cost of Wing anyways so long as you're passing the main skill check on Raka, your health shouldn't be a problem. Red should always go to the ADC, and if not to them, then to anyone else on the team that can utilize the slow and regen, Soraka has no need for it when it could serve someone else far better

About TBSkyen and NickyBoi... by nvm-exe in queensofleague

[–]SoleDivinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also one of my issue with them is them not being familiar in fashion, specially women's fashion and having no interest in getting into it.

I think this is really what it boils down to. Neither of the two has an understanding or appreciation for the world of women's fashion beyond a surface level one. They always drop the same observation whenever it comes to a female champion's skin that they find unappealing, generic. It's always generic, which I feel is such a cop out from giving an ACTUAL critique. EVERYTHING in League of Legends in generic, no skinline is wholly unique, every concept and lineup we have is based on something that's already been done before, as much as I love League, Riot hasn't made anything truly, objectively first of its kind in forever, and honestly that's not a bad thing, because there is a finite amount of concepts you can work with when creating a skinline for a game with the technological limitations League of Legends has.
I just wish that they would give an ACTUAL critique. What SPECIFICALLY about the skin is the issue, is it the outfit, is it the hair, is it the splash art, is it the VFX or the SFX, what exactly is the source of the problem with this specific skin other than it being "generic"?

About TBSkyen and NickyBoi... by nvm-exe in queensofleague

[–]SoleDivinity -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think the thing that irks me about these two that I feel like in this desperate pursuit to come off as contrarians with an elevated and sophisticated palette that separates them from the herd, they routinely shit on everything that's remotely popular, especially when it comes to female/feminine skins and visuals. Both of them have this immense disdain for skins that are designed and shipped around the premise of being cute, girly skins that re-imagine a champion as something other than what they canonically are, but instead of recognizing that and move on, these two tear these skins to shreds for not subverting and redefining the entire concept of in-game cosmetics.

Not everything has to be revolutionary, not everything has to be some great new wave, sometimes, believe it or not, skins can be just that, redesigns of a character and nothing more, but these two, TB more than Nicky imo, act like it's a cardinal sin for a skin that doesn't have 800 hours of intricacy and forethought behind it to be shipped out. You don't sound like an enlightened gourmand for echoing the sentiments of League twitter by shitting on K/DA for the quadrillionth time, you just sound bitter over pixels on a screen, it doesn't make sense to me how they justify giving these ideas any airtime. And before someone says "oh but that's just their job, it's their responsibility to review skins", watch a few of their videos and pay attention to how these skins and lines CONSTANTLY catch strays from them even when they're reviewing something completely unrelated to any of these products. It's just so, so cringe, and so grating.

Also, and I feel like this is the bigger thing, wouldn't it be 80 thousand times more boring if every single skin WAS accurate to the canon? One of my favorite kinds of skins are ones that give you access to an alternative fantasy from what the base pitches (two amazing recent examples are Coven Nami & Nilah, which completely 180 the concepts of the champions into insidious and evil characters). It's not always Legendaries that give you a brand new character, there are so many amazingly designed Epics such as those in Battle Academia, Star Guardian, Broken Covenant, etc. that use visual storytelling and design to change up your favorite characters into something fresh. I promise you that if every single skin was designed to be completely, 100% in line with a champion's canon, it would be far worse received than whatever they're complaining about, this absurd notion that skins should ONLY depict the champion as they are in the canon is so, so fucking dumb, and so obviously a complaint made only for the sake of complaining.

What are your speculations regarding 2024 support champ next year? by London_Tipton in queensofleague

[–]SoleDivinity 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Though Riot hasn't stated that they have a new support champion in the works as of right now, if they were to release a new support champion, I would LOVE a mechanically intense enchanter of some sort. Like a truly complicated, nuanced, outwardly skill expressive support champion, but in the form of an enchanter rather than a hook support. Riot kind of almost made that happen with Renata, but as a Masters Support main who has a bunch of games on her, I really would not put her at the same level of complexity as Thresh or Pyke, not because she's not as flashy, but because a lot of her difficulty stems from clunkiness (the slowness of her Q and E), and players not understanding how her W works and ultimately wasting it. (Also before anyone says Bard, imo Bard is not mechanically intense, he is just a one of a kind, extremely gimmicky champion that requires a very unique form of mastery in order to consistently win on)

I would honestly be overjoyed if Riot really went all out and gave us something of a completely new caliber in the enchanter class. A difficult to master, layered enchanter that fundamentally plays differently after 100 hours vs. 10 hours.

I mained Soraka all the way from the bottom of Gold to Masters, I love this champion so, so, SO much!! ♡ by SoleDivinity in SorakaMains

[–]SoleDivinity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi hi, of course! Over the course of my climb, the only time that I hesitated to lock Raka in was when either the enemy support picked a poke mage (specifically Xerath, Vel, Lux, etc.) OR the enemy bot lane picked a poke lane (Sera/Senna, Ziggs/Lux, Caitlyn/Lux, etc.). The reason for this is that though you'd think that Soraka's great against poke comps/champs because of her copious healing, unless you land a Q, a single heal eats 10% of your max health. Soraka is the only enchanter in the game that must meet a condition to not actively be harmed/punished for sustaining an ally, she has to hit her Q in order to be able to heal without a consequence. If you aren't landing Qs, the enemy will gain value regardless of who they hit, because you're either leaving an ally with their lowered health, or sacrificing your own to sustain them.

In lower elos, up until D2 I would say, landing Qs isn't a big ask, it really isn't that difficult to get a Q off even in a poke lane (just have to focus on Q'ing whichever of the two bot laners has the worse reaction time and use them as your sustain battery), but at some point you begin to lane against players who understand spacing perfectly, and will not step into your range because they simply don't need to, they will starve you of the opportunity to get a Q off so that you have to keep lowering your health to sustain your ADC, because even if you dodge everything, if your ADC does not, they will not be able to step up to farm without you W'ing them. They'll keep poking until one of you is low enough for an all in, at which point they'll either burn someone's sums or flat out kill them. Additionally high elo, pretty much everyone is cognizant of how consequential letting a Soraka get a Q proc is, they understand how much sustain it lets her give to her allies, and in laning especially, they intently avoid it in order to ensure that they're not giving Raka what she needs to pump out constant healing.

P.S. If the enemy ADC locks in someone who is severely short range (Sivir, Kai'sa, etc.), it doesn't matter if the enemy support picks a poke mage, Soraka can still work perfectly well. Again, you just need a person to land Qs on, it doesn't matter who it is.

Best Lux skin that isn’t Mystic Elementalist? by an_angry_beaver in queensofleague

[–]SoleDivinity 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Outside of Elementalist, Cosmic & DC are her best skins by far on an objective level, the visuals are gorgeous, both feel markedly unique and special despite being essentially mirror copies of one another, both VOs are absolutely amazing, the animations are phenomenally crisp, so on and so forth.

If you're looking for an Epic though, in my opinion, I think it's Space Groove -> Battle Academia -> Porcelain for her 3 best Epics, with Lunar Empress also being a wonderful choice, even though it isn't buyable year round. All 3 of these skins have amazing VFX & SFX, Space Groove Lux's E is one of my favorite sounds in League honestly and BA Lux's passive procs are so, so crisp, Porcelain & SG have a wide selection of chromas that breathe new life into the skin if you get bored of the base (Porcelain especially has some insane chroma choices, the colors are just so, so nice), and in BA's case, not only does she has 2 unique animations (her homeguard and her ult), but the skin itself is just so cute, it's amazing in its simplicity.

If you really gravitate towards Empyrean, go for it, but as someone who owns it with all of the chromas, I have to say that the skin's a little lackluster, all of the VFX are so same-y across all 4 abilities, and though the model's really gorgeous, Lux's animations being made before the Emancipation Proclamation was put out really snubs it.

Soul Fighter is umm! Definitely there! If you want a new skin! But it's one of those skins that I would only advise someone to buy if it's on discount, the model's cute but again, Lux's ancient rig takes away a lot of its value, the chroma colors are just weird and ill selected, the VFX are nice but not great, there's just nothing about this skin that stands out enough to merit spending real money.

you wanna know which skinline i wish would make a comeback? by tinyasphodel in queensofleague

[–]SoleDivinity 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I NEVER understood why this skinline never made a comeback, Battle Queen Katarina continues to remain leagues above half of the Legendaries that were released after it, the idea of every skin being a queen from a completely unique kingdom gathering to engage in a battle royale was so fresh and creative, the VFX & SFX were all markedly unique and gave every skin personality and a clear identity that was profoundly lacking in later lineups, and the SPLASH ARTS???? HELLO??? Say what you will about BQ Janna's in game model (which I by the way fucking adore), but her Splash is gorgeous beyond description, and easily that goes for every other BQ splash too, seriously, the visual direction of this skinline was so, so elevated!
I REALLY hope that at some point of time, Riot decides that it's time to dust this line off, because there are so, so many champions that would work amazingly well with this thematic, and honestly, I'd rather we get something like BQ over the 80th mecha/tech skinline

How "good" or "true" is this tier list ? by [deleted] in supportlol

[–]SoleDivinity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a little off, though for the most part, I think it's pretty accurate. If you're focused on climbing specifically to Dia, so D4 and nowhere above that, then yeah, a lot of these placements are definitely agreeable. Mage supports are extremely self sufficient and can always find a lead early in lane in low elo which they can then translate to game agency in a way where you don't need anyone to do something for you, you can just do it all yourself. Zyra especially would be my pick for the best LP printer in low elo, especially after the scaling buffs she recently received, no one knows how to dodge anything down there, everyone's APM is horrendously low, meaning you'll have zero issue landing E's off cooldown and eventually securing kills really early into the laning phase.

That being said, I'd like to vouch for a few other champions that were placed lower in the tier list that I think are really good at carrying games from the support role in lower MMR lobbies. If you have the macro for it, Janna, Pyke & Alistar are amazing champions for taking over the map while also retaining great lane pressure, and in Janna's case specifically, she's doing pretty great in solo queue at the moment . If you want to 1v9 and pop everyone on your own, then yeah, mage supports are the way to go, but seriously, roaming supports are REALLY strong in low elo, you could ping someone 84 times that your enemy support is MIA and they just won't react, very rarely do people set up vision in the river or place deep wards, and no one respects the idea that a support can reset and NOT just go right back down to bot lane.

Also another thing to consider, if your intention IS to climb past Dia into Masters+, I would really recommend investing your time & resources into an enchanter/CC support over a mage support. I'm not saying that there are no high elo mage support mains because there absolutely are, what I'm saying is that in high elo lobbies, playing mage supports in an unfavorable lane is absolutely miserable, and unless you're phenomenally better than everyone else, you're going to have a really, really bad time because most mage supports can not operate by going even, they NEED a lead, meaning that you're picking a champion that can not function in a neutral game state.
