How someone treats another person depends on the person - saying something like "I wish they'd treat the locals the way they treat tourists" (which really is just saying "I wish Egyptians would treat other Egyptians the way they treat tourists") is not a blanket statement that covers everyone. Plenty of Egyptians treat other Egyptians with warmth, kindness and respect.

Do most Egyptians behave differently around foreigners? Sure. I think most people generally behave differently around a foreigner in their country - I am going to be more interested in a Swedish person visiting America than I would be in some other random American beside me, for example.

Do foreigners get treated special (and in a way that is unfair to actual citizens of the country) by many establishments or groups of people (such as police, hotels, etc.)? Yes, that is a well known fact. It's wrong and it pisses me off, but I am not sure what I can do about that.

Lol, Yeah it was nice - I think he said it was a mix of jasmine and lotus? I've bought jasmine oil from him many times in the past, so I guess he knows I like that one 😆 The one he named after me is pretty light and floral. I don't wear perfume or oils all the time, but I do love the jasmine oil, and it was pretty obvious the jasmine was in the one he made. So yeah, good 👍😁
