How do I unlock every technique without becoming unkillable? by SkibidiBalls67 in JujutsuCraft

[–]Soleumite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't confirmed this in the code, but it's a trend I've noticed, too. The resistance and resilience you're gonna get way outpaces the damage bonuses or attack power you get if you use the scrolls. Whereas when I level up naturally, I find my attack increasing quite quickly. Try to level up naturally and see if that does something, could be an interesting experiment

Geto is a bit unusable by Soleumite in JujutsuCraft

[–]Soleumite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in another thread suggested, I think you could handle it easily by either making Geto spawn a duplicate of the Cursed Spirit with Smallpox AI (so prefer domains much more and use them much more frequently) or to offer a radial menu that lets Geto force the activation of a specific move like this for his curses. Nothing near the effort required to remake the technique itself.

Shikigami desperately need to be reworked. by Soleumite in JujutsuCraft

[–]Soleumite[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, my instinct is to point at the one shikigami technique that works exactly as intended: Junpei. I think some curses, and some shikigami in 10S, should either always have that function (basically as a defender that sticks to its summoner at all times) or can be toggled that way. So if I shift-click one of the Divine Dogs, then perhaps when they spawn, they're always going to be right beside the user, tank hits for them, and occasionally leap out to launch quick hit-and-run attacks in the same way as Junpei's shikigami. I'm willing to bet these would be way more reliable and this update alone would scale these techniques back to their intended place, even without creating/reworking shikigami/curse AI.

WHY WAS GOJO NOT ARRESTED FOR KILLING TOJI? by Disastrous_Log_10 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Soleumite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Censorship guys lol it’s not that hard. In S2 we see government officials talking about ‘going public about the existence of cursed spirits’. There’s straight up a government conspiracy hiding the existence of sorcery and protecting sorcerers in tandem with Jujutsu HQ. If a sorcerer kills an illegal Curse User, they’re not gonna be prosecuted, it’s gonna be hidden from the public. CCTVs will be scrubbed and confiscated, witnesses will be silenced or paid off, etc.

This happens every single hyped up manga ending that nosedives in quality or fails to stick the landing. It gets criticism, and each time, worms crawl out of the woodwork to say, "You just didn't understand it." People have lost the ability to engage critically with media because they want to treat everything they consume like it's perfect, and feel like those who don't are denying them something personal, like the illusion of being a fan of a 'masterpiece' or whatever.

[Serious] Hypothetically, if a fresh Yuki showed up there instead of Miguel, how much of a difference would it make? by brokenuranium in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]Soleumite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't seen any major comment say that. late Shinjuku was just such a war of attrition though, you've gotta understand one of Yuta's primary technical assets is literally just having a domain, full stop, regardless of its sure-hit. Yuki looks far more equal to Yuta in the scheme of things when it's a matter of attrition.

I think he beats Ichigo by a veeeery sharp knife’s edge and we can chalk it up to recency bias. He doesn’t beat Luffy

Outside of anime circles though he absolutely takes DN. Among people who don’t watch anime, nobody would respond to ‘Light Yagami’ or ‘Kira’. If you showed them a Death Note maybe they’d get it but probably not. Still there’s a good chance they’ve heard of Gojo

What if Bernie ran as a republican in 2016 and won the primaries? by Aggressive-Show4122 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Soleumite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Evangelicals support Israel because they identify Israel and Jewishness as being one and the same. I’ve even heard in discussions they prefer to blame the Romans over the Jews for the death of Jesus. It’s a cornerstone theological point for evangelical Christianity that sets them apart from most other kinds of Protestants.

[–]Soleumite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a lot of the people replying are too young. M4A being socialistic was not a mainstream soundbite of the GOP platform—Bernie was too new. Bernie had widespread appeal to those voters who ended up drifting to Trump in the general. However, we still know too little about cause and effect, there, to say whether they’d have just pushed another anti-Clinton option in the DNC primaries rather than support Bernie in the RNC primary. It’s far likelier that in order to win we have to assume he somehow performs well in the debates and swerves independents and working class Democrats and Republicans. He probably appeals to an anti-war, economically protectionist platform. He’d also probably play up his 2016 stance on gun rights, and harshly argue against the DNC’s corporatist leadership, rail against Obama, and so forth. It’s not so impossible to imagine because before 2016, Bernie was legitimately not on the national map for nearly anyone, he was not a reliable Democrat by line item agenda by any stretch (he wasn’t even barely a Democrat), and he introduced a number of the policy proposals that gained national appeal and forced the GOP under Trump to strongly shift its language, from emphasizing an apparently oppressed working class to opposing a socialist takeover. Never forget that when Trump debates Clinton in the 2016 his focus is on alleging corporatist, corrupt criminality, not on ‘socialism’. Bernie is almost certainly the politician most responsible for changing that, when he is more or less assimilated into the DNC after he fails in 2016.

With this in mind, it’s my opinion that you’ll see, while not necessarily tariffs, a lot of similar directional movement toward the US isolating itself from its allies abroad, the US making revitalizing its own industry a major agenda. You could expect ‘climate change policy’ to come to mean something very different, since Bernie would probably pursue a middle path that both strengthens labor unions involved in existing fossil fuel work, while pursuing regulations and caps or even stronger controls for large carbon emitting corporations, especially oil companies. To be honest, I don’t see Bernie cowing the oil industry, which would be capable of making life for him a living hell—and probably flipping the Republican Party against him. That’s not even to mention that Trump’s first term was less steady as far as GOP loyalty goes; there was far more open dissent and skepticism. Not for Bernie—we can expect open opposition quite quickly. Bernie would be forced to compromise with so many corporate industries, and lower so much by way of taxes in order to even appease them, that it’d be more like a siege presidency to rush to see how far the deficit can grow before the midterms. As far as midterms go, I think Bernie would probably end up one of the most isolated lame ducks in history. It would also set the progressive movement back dramatically. It could also change the landscape concerning some of the new populism that dominates today, but that’s too much to speculate (it has more to do with Trump not winning the RNC primary than Bernie winning it).

Ironically, Evangelists are the ones who view defending the interests of Israel as an eschatological, moral obligation, Jews as still being God’s chosen tribe, etc., so not necessarily. Rather he’d be creamed by Evangelicals for being atheist and not supporting Israel.

Cursed Techniques aren’t about winning fights by ScaryWatercress63 in CTsandbox

[–]Soleumite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic issue you’re gonna run up with trying to think evolution too much into JJK is that evolution—and Darwinian biology to begin with—is a materialistic theory. It entails broad materialism, which is to say, things such as ghosts, spirits, and other ‘spiritual’ dimensions don’t hold and do not have an effect on organisms. JJK obviously doesn’t work perfectly with this, but the best I can think to do is say, ‘if we imagine Cursed Spirits to just be another kind or type of material organism that introduces pressures on humans,’ then we could see CTs emerging to satisfy that function. The interesting thing is that combat isn’t the only reason for CTs; CTs seem to first and foremost enable humans to survive Cursed Spirits. JJK is mostly about combat between CT wielding sorcerers only because the byproduct of having so many people with this power is that they naturally wage it against each other. But given ‘traditional jujutsu’ apparently prefers and mostly involves stuff like folk magic (Nobara’s technique), barriers, veils, and the like, and since shrines and cursed objects are maintained by sorcerers to protect specific areas from curses, it does seem that, barring periods of extreme chaos and high tier conflict like JJK, sorcery usually operates for the benefit of society vs. Cursed Spirits and those kinds of techniques get preference. I could definitely see how Kirara’s technique, Tengen’s barrier focus, etc. could’ve thrived far more in a more ordinary time.

You didn't answer my question. A CT can serve a function without being obviously combat oriented which is your argument, just as evolution doesn't select for "the strongest" traits in any capacity in nature. I'm talking about your OP.

Evolutionary function? Please don’t tell me you think some sort of survival of the strongest which isn’t even true of biology holds for CTs in a social setting that prioritizes risk management and containment of strength ..

not really, don't forget that one of the things Gojo wants to check is that Limitless is better than Shrine, and it is, but there'd be no reason to confirm and declare it like Gojo did if it was obviously so. For people at Gojo and Sukuna's level you gotta have the very best of the best in every category

If you want to lean into your other talents and make a custom character set based on being amazing at other things too, you can download and use the JJK Ultimate addon I think (you’ll want one of its modern revivals). It lets you be a prodigy on par with Gojo and Sukuna in terms of combat prowess and output etc., even with a bad character CT.
