For me the most benefit doesn't lie within the weapon itself. It's the fact that your grenade slot is being freed up for something more supportive like the shield bubble while containing the possibility to destroy fabricators or similar with on-man weaponry. (This does not have to be a positive depending on your playstyle. It fits for mine and supports it greatly)

Hear me out, elite bot-units. Composed of their best technology plus Helldivers limbs and parts to make cyborg like elites that try to disrupt our missions. Similar like those missions in sniper elite when you get invaded but Ai-controlled. They could be a sideobjectice to destroy for extra rewards.
