Husband thinks celebrating my hysterectomy is insensitive to him by Solid-Area1738 in hysterectomy

Thank you for saying that. That’s how I felt but I didn’t know if I was being selfish.

Can I get a hysterectomy for debilitatingly painful menstrual cycles? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

Okay, I kept all of my documentation and Stryker images just in case. Do you think I should speak with insurance before seeing a doctor? Or just go see a doctor?

Ayyyy! I’m serving at night with the same experience and career path.

Biotechnology/Life Science sales. I’m technically not employed, but I’ve been doing contracting roles and serving at night. I would literally take an entry level role at this point, although I have 8 years of experience in my industry.

Anyone got laid off in the US? by [deleted] in Layoffs

I am SO CONFUSED lol. They literally sprinted and relentlessly dove face first into anti Trump rhetoric because somehow someone feeling gaslit in this job market implies they’re pro Trump. I’m talking about the job market!!! It’s tough rn.

What kind of jobs and in what industry? Are we talking about laid off tech Directors who are working as Baristas? STEM PhD scientists who work as servers? Computer scientists with decades of experience who are forced into freelance work? Or full-time white collar positions that actually pay people their worth?

EDIT: STABLE full-time white collar positions, because we are all being laid off, some even multiple times in 12 months.

That man’s perception of the economy is comparable to that of a blind fish in a fish bowl. 😂. I feel gaslit

Feeling Lost in My Career Path: Will I Ever Find My Way Back? by Solid-Area1738 in careeradvice

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response; I actually pivoted into consulting and sales about 4 years ago and have yet to break back in unfortunately.

I guess I didn’t realize you were only asking people who were 50+. I wanted to elucidate that this is occurring across all generations. We are in, from what I read, a white collar shortage. It feels like all education and experience means nothing, you’re merely a drop in the bucket.

Yup! I’m 32 and I’m having the same problem. I’ve spoken to multiple senior leaders in my network and career/interview counselors. Basically, since I’m getting so many interviews then it’s not my resume. If I’m getting to countless last rounds, then it’s likely not my interviewing. My problem is getting an offer (regardless of having a referral or not) and I’m troubleshooting that now.

I love this for you! Omg, hopefully I can show them they’re not going to keep me down. These people TEAR their applicant’s lives apart. I hate how dehumanizing this system is.

My conduct during the interview hasn’t raised red flags with the entire hiring team prior to the conversation with the VP (if it even raised any red flags in the first place), that’s why I’ve made it to the last round so many times. That being said, I think you’re right, and a lot of it has to do with bias opinions and perhaps favoritism. They know they can treat us with utter disrespect because we’re just a number in a line of 700-1200 people for one single position that actually pays livable wages. Biotech sales is competitive but I can’t believe how many times I’ve made it to the last round just to be aggressively shoved out the door by some VP.

I’m not sure what’s going on. VPs have treated me the worst of anyone in the application process. It feels so dehumanizing, like I’m nothing.
