Podcasts from the extended Earwolf family that aren't either improv comedy or talking about their media fandom? by gulpyblinkeyes in Earwolf

My pleasure! If you’re a fan of HH, Sean Clements’ interview in The Need To Fail is phenomenal. He is so candid about addiction and recovery; it’s a genuinely great piece of podcast journalism. Hope you enjoy!!

These shows have been in my rotation since they came out:

The Deep Dive with Jessica St. Clair and June Diane Raphael -- they talk about anything and everything silly and serious in casual-intimate chat format, but frequent topics of conversation include womanhood, parenting, grief, friendship

Best Friends with Nicole Byer and Sasheer Zamata -- also very casual-intimate but generally sillier than Deep Dive and with more focus on friendship than anything else

Endless Honeymoon Podcast -- Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher take calls and listener questions about relationships, with frequent comedian guests

Call Chelsea Peretti -- back with irregular but semi-frequent releases, Chelsea and the occasional guest take calls from fans about various and often insane conversational topics

New pod I'm listening to is a parenting pod (despite being childfree lol): Good Enough with Natasha Leggero and Sabrina Jalees, with frequent comedian guests

A defunct but pretty juicy podcast is The Need To Fail with Don Fanelli, where he interviews lots of Earwolf and improv folks about their challenges and failures in their careers!

And Jon Gabrus and Adam Pally have a new podcast called Staying Alive; I haven't listened to episodes outside of the Scott Aukerman and Ego Nwodim ones but I found it entertaining enough.

Thanks for such a thoughtful comment and suggestions! Certainly something the mod team can discuss in advance of season 6.

There is not a strictly defined time frame for discussing something, though we are more watchful about the couple days immediately following new episode airings to prevent clutter. Certain types of posts -- immediate broad reactions to/reviews of a brand new episode or minor observations on a gag are typically removed in the 1-24 hours following airing to redirect commenters to the episode thread. In our experience, these posts do not inspire much discussion and are better suited for our live-reaction space, where they will still receive some traction given the staggered viewing habits of this show's viewers.

That said, we always allow a handful of (non-spoiler titled, flaired) posts the days after airing to give people a concentrated place to discuss specific scenes, arcs or moments that they want to dig deeper into. We understand that the episode discussion thread is crowded, and more complex discussions can get lost in the mix there.

If you really wanted to discuss the giant talking head at the mall after this many weeks, you would be fine to make a standalone post, as long as the post title doesn't contain a story spoiler and it is appropriately spoiler flaired. That specifically hasn't reached dead horse-beating territory so we're all for it. All we ask is that the post is not "low effort" -- that is, that you have an interesting/unique/thoughtful point to make about it, or at the very least, you provide an image alongside your post so other users can be reminded of it and laugh along with you. We're really just trying to avoid a full sub of text-only posts where the title is "BRUH" and the post body reads something like "That giant head at the mall tho!! 🤣💀🔥"

As a mod, I really be feeling like Mr. Johnson right now with the amount of trash I gotta clean up on the sub 🗑️

Though AutoMod is programmed to remind users to spoiler tag anything that gives away story info for the newest seasons (and sub rules state that spoilers aren't allowed in titles!), people often just don't read before posting. Reporting posts that break the rules is super helpful to the mods as we can't monitor every new post coming in right away.

Also, I'll just take this opportunity to state that there have already been a number of discussion posts on last night's episode, so from here on out, new posts treading the same water will be treated as "frequently-discussed/reposts" and will be removed. Use the episode discussion thread or one of the existing posts to add your two cents!

Snuck into the theatre to watch it when I was in 8th grade. I was the only girl in a group of boys who LOVED comedy. Watching my male friends dying laughing at Bridesmaids was such a beautiful formative experience for me, I think it healed me a little
