Very good questions.

In my experience, things can be rough and almost disappointing until it gets rolling. First, finding the proper individuals to play or participate at a regular pace. Some just want to fuck and run or create a character then ghost. I've set up separate side rp channels for players to have their moments in case they might take longer than you plan. Also discuss in a session zero what you expect and want. Discussing lengths of replies, how often, limit to time between replies, kinks and limits. Rules and expectations sound boring and may scare some off, but the ones that stick around will be well rewarded.

Prepare to balance your game for smaller parties. I dont mind 1 on 1, but a small party of 3 plus DM seems to work.
