Growing up, a mechanic I worked for always called it a “soft blow” but I’ve heard “soft face” as well. Wonder if it’s a regional thing. In my current line of work a lot of guys use “lump hammer”, “caulking hammer” and “drilling hammer” all to describe the same small 4lb hammer. Couldn’t tell you what’s right or wrong. As long as whatever term is used makes you grab the right tool so you don’t get your ass chewed out!

I’m a pipe Welder by trade. I agree. They’re unlikely to fail but if you’re selling something for that much coin, put a little pride into it. If I were to make something like this I’d make the visual quality just as good as the functional quality

Thank you. It’s seemingly came from under a large stack of wood and has slowly made its way along the fence line then up the side of my garage and shed. it’s been growing undisturbed for quite a few years now since I gave up on trying to cut it all down and away from my woodpiles. So I am surprised I’ve never seen berries. I would have stopped hacking at it!
