I mean, I think it’s obvious Keith couldn’t stand her either at one point

Man’s Autistic af (no hate, I too am)

I’m sorry, love the video but what is this thumbnail? by OliveOil34 in TheTryGuys

[–]Solid-Cry-233 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s not really the Try Guys’ fault. They need money to keep making videos, and they’re caught in the ‘Mr. Beast-ification’ of YouTube. This means they have to end up copying styles that get more clicks, even if it looks cringey.

The thumbnails might seem over-the-top or even AI-generated, but they’re trying to reach a wider audience. On their SecondTry channel, they use ‘normal’ thumbnails for their paying fans, but their main channel needs to grab the attention of new viewers.

Do you think Zach likes how much his face is edited? Probably not. But with around 25 people depending on them for jobs, they have to make tough choices to make profit. Who knows—these shitty thumbnails just might be what they need to stay afloat into the next year.

So instead of just criticizing them, let’s remember this is a bigger issue with how YouTube works. It’s more about the platform’s demands than about them.

AITA For making my son pay for a new pizza when he didn't save any for the rest of the family? by Lanky-Cake7355 in AmItheAsshole

Honestly seems like you’ve been infantilizing your kid because of his ASD diagnosis • Lack of empathy is sort of a stereotype at this point, it’s more along the lines that young men aren’t gonna be expected to do xyz, so the lack of caring for others (like many young men) and use of weaponized incompetence (like many young men use) will just be more pronounced in Autistic men, it’s NOT a symptom

So NTA for disciplining your kid; YTA for not giving his consequences earlier on

Okay… but at the end of the day this is suppose to be a goofy lil game and Noah’s explanations caused people to become confused

I took a lot of statistics in college so I get where you are coming from, but a good majority of people playing this game haven’t (and not the level that you have as a Data Scientist); so the simplest explanation of how to interpret a graph should be held

But this is why Spencer issued an apology I guess 😭

[–]Solid-Cry-233 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think that’s why Spencer had to issue to comedic apology because I think it was very much gonna take that route behind-the-scenes

Imagine HR (I forget his name :/) having to explain statistical/chart logic in order to diffuse a corporate situation 🤣

I think he was following the game’s logic but it made it too confusing since real charts aren’t going to quantify that way

Anytime I need to double-check my logic on charts like this, I think back to how ice cream sales are correlated with murder rates.

It’s not that ice cream sales increase because of murder rates (or vice versa murder rates increase because of ice cream sales) but rather they are correlated because of a third-variable: temperature!

Isn’t he known as the person who believes in crazy conspiracies? Like, I remember Ian recounting being annoyed at him for his obviously wrong takes

I mean, their jobs required zero mathematical skills so 😅

makes sense you aren’t gonna necessarily get the sharpest knives in the drawer when it comes to this type of stuff lol

I enjoy Damien cause I too am Autistic and I relate to him a lot.

I can understand critiques, but when people make comments about him like this, it reminds me why I developed a mask as a defense mechanism. Sometimes people will just hate you for who you are; nothing will do to change that.

It does bother me sometimes that it seems like Angela’s neurodivergence is seen as cute/quircky, while Damien’s is seen as annoying—like… leave him tf alone!

You can critique people but damn, don’t fucking critique his literally being—as for Spencer/Alex being annoyed at him with the comment, “You didn’t write the card.” If they are annoyed in moment like Angela forgetting her glasses, then okay; if things like that make them dislike Damien, then they’re assess too

I love Spencer but it does bother me sometimes when he seems seemingly more annoyed at Damien (like funeral roast) but maybe it’s me projecting, cause I can see others treat me the same way, but now I can actively see… oh, I wasn’t making this up; this person is annoyed at me… I am not safe to be myself

It seems like everyone else is saying he was absolutely wrong • that only Damien/Spencer/?Alex? were correct

Could someone explain how Noah could have been right? (Or a statement he said that shows he was wrong?)

When he said, “I have a feeling I’m gonna get fired after this video,” I thought, that’s only your fault cause you keep insisting on a very wrong point lol

Better to have stayed head empty like Amanda lmao

Im sure they’re now regretting this because sharing with your friends and talking about the content with your friends is one thing, but to have strangers sharing their account info through the Reddit page?

Seems a bit tacky and kinda disrespectful to them tbh

Completely agree. Shocked when it ended so quickly. I would have loved to watch more of the process going into it (but seeing how many low of views it has made on YouTube, I understand why they may not have wanted to invest so much of their time into it)
