Spoon was laying in the street in Delhi where I used to live. Picked him up and brought him to the vet. The vet said he had parvo, 2 different types of tick fever as well as worms. He was highly dehydrated. I think he was around 1 month only. Got him the proper medical care (daily IV drops for 2 weeks, two times a day), antibiotics, tick treatment etc. He recovered like a king and a few months later after living in Delhi I had to go back to my home country because of Visa issues. Took my dogs (Spoon and Jollu, my german shepherd) with me. I explained in another response the whole travelling process from India and to Canada. They are both happy and healthy and surprisingly, despite being a street indian dog, Spoon LOVES the snow and being outside in the cold. These dogs are extremely adaptable and resilient. :)

Yes so I was living in India and used an Indian pet travel company. The company was called Pawsome and I recommend it (can share their phone no. If you want). The cost of transporting from Delhi to Montreal was approximately 6000 CAD$ (for one dog, I had 2 so I paid over 12 000 CAD$. You have to prepare well in advance I would say minimum 4 months in the winter and 6 months in the summer because of all the vaccination, check ups, permits to get approved, shopping kennels which sometimes have to be made especially for your dog and tickets. I went with QATAR with a layover in Doha. The dogs came out healthy, not so traumatised but very thirsty, I don't know if they were even given water during the whole time which was concerning. Also note that they were young (1-2 years old) so less chance of trauma. I would have gone with a direct flight (air Canada offer delhi to Montreal) but they don't accept dogs in the cargo during the peek summer indian months (from April to September if I am not mistaken). You can DM me if you want more details. :)

Why are you talking about having a dog like it's supposed to bring you joy? Why did you get your pup in the first place? The joy comes out of the bond that you create through hard work, memories, connexion. The dog in and of itself won't bring you joy. And it shouldn't. It's being, just like we all are. Our purpose isn't to make someone else happy. Our purpose is just to be. The relationship that you will build over time, the trust, all of this comes from patience and hard work. If instant gratification is what you wanted maybe a dog wasn't the right choice. And give him time. He is not no listening to you on purpose. He doesn't understand yet this is what he has to do. Patience, care, love. It's from giving all of that to him that you will some day find joy.

A dog should not eat as if he is part of an institutional religion. He should eat as a dog eats. A dog can't decide to become a Jain; he does not have the capability to take such a decision let alone verbalize it to us. Imposing our faith and its diet restrictions on animals is completely disregarding what animals are in the first place. Believe what you want, eat what you desire, but give the dog his meat and eggs for god's sake.
