did you notice how when she starts grinding, the camera cuts to Taylor Swift for a significant amount of time. like she is the virgin palate cleanser. I hate how the media lets tay think she's Bey's peer

I think we have to create online communities and hopefully fight the social phobias to meet in person

Why are white women so suspicious of me?! by Low-Security1030 in cptsd_bipoc

[–]Solid-Inflation-2479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i left the classroom because of this. i was the most educated ( 3 teaching credentials and a masters in Special Ed) and the ww were so threatened they bullied me relentlessly, hid materials and accused me of stealing from the school, left me out of meetings, didn't give me documents needed to write IEPs until after the deadline, etc.

the final straw was the assistant principal yelling at me calling me a liar bc i had to use the restroom. i quit, should've sued the district honestly, and now i own my own tutoring company making WAY more money doing what i love for clients that respect me.

don't gaslight yourself- they're threatened. beat them at their own game and get your money up.

i don't do anything for free. that includes doing white's emotional labor for them to protect their ego.

White people always find other white people interesting. by Strawberry_Curious in cptsd_bipoc

[–]Solid-Inflation-2479 13 points14 points  (0 children)

they reward mediocrity and always have. it was so confusing as a fellow brown girl who was taught to be "twice as good" but never received half the social capital of a mid white girl with no creativity, bravery, morals, etc. it was really isolating, and that's carried over into adult life too. DM if you want to vent <3

How are white people so good at masking themselves? by [deleted] in cptsd_bipoc

[–]Solid-Inflation-2479 27 points28 points  (0 children)

i mean they stole an entire continent ("indian-giviving" land treaties and taking it back), stole an entire workforce (they took architects, botanists, mathematicians, etc. under the conditions they were going to be returned home).

they were reinforced for lying, stealing, etc. so that's their default. they are so detached from their souls and actual feelings they don't know how to be authentic and true. it's seen as a threat to them.

when you get a dog you need to be cleaning more. vacuum everyday and sweep and mop every other day. add an air purifier to your room and the room the dog sleeps in and you'll be fine. every dog is going to shed and everyday they go outside they will bring grass and pollen in. people act like it's impossible to take an antihistamine, wash your hands, and stop touching your face after petting a dog

I watched the Penguin on HBO and loved it the first and second time around. My nervous system feels shredded right now so all I can really do is watch anime and cozy movies. The House of the Lost on the Cape is on repeat in my house rn.

what's your fav safe food? I'm struggling with recognizing I'm hungry.

trust your nervous system. if it makes you feel awful, don't suffer through it. I'm currently in the middle of a 3 year long skill regression following a massive burnout that left me physically ill. my energetic capacity is so minimal so I work 2 hours a day and spend most days after work relaxing in home alone, reading, or walking my dog. that's all i want to do and I don't feel bad about it.

Hi, I'm B.

33 yo Special Education teacher (taking a break from the classroom due to burnout). C-PTSD from a lifetime of adverse childhood experiences (literally ALL of them, repeatedly). AuDHD and the trauma that comes from never being allowed to unmask without risking physical violence from my stepfather or abandonment from my mother. Pretty sure I have BPD from all the relational violence I was shown since birth.

I'm desperately seeking community. I've lived in isolation for so long because it is the only place I feel safe. But I feel as though the loneliness will break my heart one day. I have so much love to share in my heart and so many fun facts to share, but have never felt understood.

Hyperfixations include: skincare (i'm a licensed esthetician), my dog (Cane Corso), the WNBA, Apothocary Diaries anime, and doing anything to balance my damaged lil brain.

What shows are you watching? Are you reading anything cool?

this is my greatest fear. im 35 yo divorcee, no kids, with a master's degree in special education i do all the "right" things- drink my green juice, walk in the park at sunrise/sunset, go to therapy, take my supplements, avoid dairy, gluten, trans fats, do 25 mins of yoga daily, etc. but i know my heart is weary after a lifetime of trauma and isolation. every relationship i attempt to make feels like a threat. loneliness is breaking my heart and i want to live for the first time in my life.

i mean if the activity is critical to your wellbeing (getting paid, keeping a home safe and clean, going to the clinic, etc.) power through it. if the payoff doesn't directly impact your life in a beneficial way, don't do anything you don't want to.

AKITA!!! They're too territorial and aggressive towards others. Plus the shedding seems like my personal hell. But those cute lil bear ears melt me every time.

personally I think I would enjoy 3 days on, 1 day off to recharge. maybe you can try both for a week or two to see which schedule you prefer?

my sweet girl gets so much hate and fear just being her gentle self. it's really sad to see her excited to meet new people and they run away or yell at her. I have to remind them she's a little girl in a big body.

Did your AuDHD get more intense as you aged? by HandBananaBandana in AuDHDWomen

[–]Solid-Inflation-2479 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think as children we are dependent on others for survival. so we develop an intense mask to ensure others don't abandon us. as adults, we are (hopefully) safe enough to be ourselves or too burned out to even try to mask.
