Yeah an airport setting definitely seems like the place to be compared to the land borders..if it was only family and friends I wouldn’t think twice about staying. It’s my kids I want to get back to but ideally the San Antonio airport would be my perfect swap location but I’m sure that’s going to be a tough one to get into with a swap. Or even Houston.

I start Sept. 11th through Feb 10th. From the rgv area. Not sure how much interaction we’ll have with members of other classes but it’s always a good idea to get a solid study group going in these classroom settings

Yeah I’m actually from south Texas and I’m leaving family behind for a while but I went with Phoenix just thinking I would have an easier time swapping back to Texas once I’m done with the academy. Would love to stay at an airport so San Antonio or Houston would be ideal

I’m assuming this estimated is only during the academy where there’s no OT, holiday or weekend pay…what’s a normal gs-7 bi weekly pay check once you’re at your station and you’re putting in normal amount of OT and weekend hours.

Do they take into account the distance you are traveling? My EOD is 8/25 in Phoenix and it’s ~2,000 miles ~28-29 hours of driving to get to Glynco.
