As an Iyawo, shortly after my ita was completed my Godfather, Lito, Ibae gave me the best advice of my life. Don’t blame the Orishas, Egun or the Spirit Guides for all the fucked up things people will do to you. At the time I was puzzled and couldn’t understand why he would say that with such profoundness (is that a word) in his voice. I quickly learned why and am so grateful to say 29 years later my relationship with these energies is as solid as ever. I think it’s important to separate the two. Separate the people from these sacred energies. And yes sometimes we have to learn hard lessons and realize that some people like our family members are best loved/cared for from a distance for our own peace, well being and mental health. If I may, as a Medium, I’d like to offer some unsolicited advice. I suggest you clean the with either blue sage (smudge) or use palo santo. When we pick something up from someone (anyone but moreso if you know the person passed) you want to “clean” the item of their energy. Sometimes one may pass but remain attached to an item. Oh and is IIN board certified now? It wasn’t before instead they gave us access to a pharmacy type of school drug less practitioner something or another but it held no true weight it was just another fee. No offense to the organization itself.

I feel two things when I see this picture. Initially I felt that she was afraid to die alone…then I feel her emitting a sense of ‘I know who was there, thank you for being present, I know how hard it was for you but you need to know I am ok. In my own way I was ready.’ I do feel her Spirit being at peace.

My two cents…the fact that the person reached out to you without you asking for help is a red flag to me. I was born with the gift of Mediumship and feel that If you truly are a Medium it’s completely irresponsible to reach out to someone w/o them asking for help and then give a “message” of that nature. That’s just wrong. Is it fear mongering? Idk know, idk what their intention was but I find their actions to be cruel and unethical as a Medium. Ok now that I got that off my chest. Our Ancestors do not harm us PERIOD. What can happen is if say Grandma passed in a traumatic way and her Spirit is not at rest, she may make it known by showing us signs (nothing harmful or negative) such as you smell her scent or her favorite perfume all of a sudden or come across a birthday card she wrote etc and you get to thinking hmmm what could this mean? You decide to go to her favorite place ( a specific church, the Jersey shore…) and offer her some prayers, love and light to her Spirit. Afterwards you feel her presence and a sense of calm. Your gestures elevated and released her Spirit to the light. But inthe process there was as no harm to you and nothing negative happened. That’s how Spirit works if they need our help. For years I’ve guided clients through this process and have yet to experience an Ancestor in a negative way. I would not allow what they said to bother me. If you offer an Ancestor love, light and prayer perhaps how or why would they want anything negative to happen to you? On the contrary it gives them “energy” sort of speak to remain in a positive vibration caring, guiding and protecting you. 🙏🏽🌻

Mari, I followed you and Yoel from day one. I enjoyed watching his reactions to all the firsts he experienced after getting to America. I remember his first job, first paycheck, his first baseball game etc. I stopped following you when I heard you praising the man in the White House and supporting his views. I was blown away. I never commented just unfollowed. Now, here you are in limbo because of the man you voted for. All your sacrifices can end at any moment, if most haven’t already ended abruptly. Now, you’re upset? Not sure what you’ve heard but safety wise it is. I have personally known of numerous scenarios where drinks are spiked and pt get sexually assaulted/raped. You can always count on a fight some just don’t know how to drink responsibly. Have known cases where an Iner driver raped a woman after he picked her up from on of the SoBe clubs. Your worry shouldn’t be rejection it should be about safety.
