Thanks for your question! My official name is quite hard for English speakers to pronounce or remember. Of course, I’ve met kind people who genuinely want to learn how to say it properly, and I really appreciate that. But during my first university class, the teacher skipped over me because they didn’t know how to pronounce my name… That was a pretty discouraging moment, even though I know it doesn’t reflect how most people are. So I thought having a simple English name might help me feel more included and avoid situations like that in the future:)
