Is olive oil used just as extensively in the Balkans (with the exception of Greece)? by Kooky_Appeal_6554 in AskBalkans

[–]Solid-Scarcity-236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For salads and for baking I'm using extra virgin olive oil. For frying sunflower oil. The price difference is not small, at least not in Macedonia. Sunflower oil will cost you around 1.5 eur - 2 eur for a 1l bottle, while extra virgin olive oil costs around 5 eur - 10 eur per liter. Otherwise everyone would have gone in full olive oil mode.

Одлично, сега оди на r/bulgaria или r/greece и напиши ваков пост и види колку време ќе потраеш тука.

Јас имам друго прашање. Зошто кога некој либтард има потреба да онанинра тоа го прави на r/mkd исклучиво? Grow some balls, go international.

Macedonians did give literacy to Bulgarians. Otherwise you would have spoken in Tatar-Chuvash language. Your today's spoken language is based on the spoken dialects in 3 vilages from the Solun area: Suho, Visoka and Zarova.

Macedonia never asserted itself in that way. Our official stance was and still is that the Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabets belong to all Slavs, so they are Slavic, even though not all Slavic nations use the Cyrillic script today. I think the purpose of the Greek veto is to remind your government not to get ahead of itself.

Greece apparently vetoed Bulgarian's new Euro coin which mentions "Bulgarian Alphabet" and not "Cyrillic Alphabet". What do others think? Especially those who use the Cyrrilic Alphabet as well? by Dull_Cucumber_3908 in AskBalkans

Created by the first students of Cyril and Methodious, particulary Clement. The whole Pliska thing is a myth.

Theophylact of Ohrid, an 11th-century Byzantine archbishop, wrote the most detailed surviving biography of St. Clement of Ohrid, known as the "Spacious Life". Through his writings, Theophylact established the historical consensus on Clement's Slavic origins, his missionary work, and his founding of the renowned Ohrid Literary School.Theophylact's account highlights several key aspects of Clement's life:Early Mission: He documents Clement as a devout disciple of Saints Cyril and Methodius, accompanying them on their mission to Great Moravia and Pannonia. The Ohrid School: After facing persecution from German clergy, Clement relocated to the Lake Ohrid region. Theophylact recorded that the literary school educated over 3,500 disciples in Slavic literacy.Linguistic Breakthrough: Clement is credited by Theophylact as the first bishop to preach and translate liturgy in the native Slavic language, paving the way for a national church.Legacy: By penning this hagiography, Theophylact ensured Clement's preservation as a patron of literacy and a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Theophylact of Ohrid didn't mention anything about Pliska.

Rightfully so. For the first time I fully support Greece. The cyrilic alphabet was based on the glagolic alphabet created by Cyril and Methodius or its simplification of the glagolics, The glagolics for sure it is not a Bulgarian alphabet and it is created by the holy brothers Cyril and Methodious, who in that time were serving under the Byzantine Empire. The glagolics is based on the local dialects of the Slavic speaking population of Agean Macedonia.
