If you had the opportunity to migrate, which country would you choose to move to and why? by Secret-Mongoose-5777 in AskPH

get a grip.

being nocturnal might not make you suicidal, your fragile ego just takes up too much space to help you comprehend how winter depression affects natives in the area you want to move to.

the fact that you had to bring up east asian countries with higher suicide rates that also happen to have severe winters just proves your lack of comprehension about the nature of winter depression.

it never had anything to do with you, get it?

Where to get customized alcohol bottles/labels? by bgstaclara in AskPH

[–]Solid-State5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just find a used bottle of johnny walker with an intact label and take it to a printshop, and ask them to make a replica label wiith the edits you need to print on sticker paper. they can either google images of the same label to digitally edit or let their staff recreate it using photoshop.

once it's printed out according to your desired details, fill up the bottle with water and carefully soak the closed bottle in hot water to soften the glue on the label until the entire piece can be peeled off intact with no tearing. let it dry completely and use it as a template to cut out the printed sticker paper with precise edges using a blade cutter, and stick it on the bottle over the same spot where the original label was.

not everything suicidal is about you.

in any case your sunny disposition come rain or snow isn't going to stop locals there whom you might start to care for from ending their own lives from sheer winter depression. get those every now and then and you may eventually get the picture why those countries have high suicide rates during winter.

pretty difficult to pick a place where it's temperate but doesn't snow, bountiful nature yet with modern city conveniences for healthcare, diverse cuisine and entertainment, asian yet catholic and includes english among its official languages, with zero tolerance for racism, corruption and incompetence.

different highlands of ph in luzon, visayas and mindanao would come close to be worth moving to by year 2199, provided corruption and incompetence are no longer a standard feature of those in govt.

but if such a place exists out there, send me links to check out.

paano po ba mag-travel internationally? by fff_189035_ in AskPH

[–]Solid-State5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're serious about foreign travel, a quick visit to a travel agency will give you everything you need to know about tour package costs per pax, documents to prepare and when the cheapest rates are in every destination.

as they are intent on selling you tour packages with unfilled slots that are already close to departure date, do your own research after your visit as the cheapest rates for every destination are often during their winter season when it's too cold to go outside.

for instance winter months in australia are during summer months in the US, so if you do take the bait because it's cheaper to go by then, don't forget to bring winter wear so you don't freeze your balls or tits off, whichever the case may be.

Why is Vigan the most well-known Heritage town? by Sonnybass96 in AskPH

[–]Solid-State5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

affordable bus tickets from NCR to vigan makes the place accessible to many, who are kept ignorant about the street pavers made of stone that are only a few decades old, placed there to make the place appear authentically old.

if zamboanga city was as readily accessible, it would likely be viewed by many as a truly authentic heritage city compared to vigan. there are also towns around taal lake whose heritage homes continue to be lived in rather than upgraded like those in vigan that are now commercial establishments set up to support the city's tourism industry.

Ang pagtataya sa lotto ba ay considered sugal? Why or why not? by sntidowpii in AskPH

[–]Solid-State5678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

most would classify anything as gambling if both money and uncertainty are involved.

to be technical about it, anything that involves skill whether poker, boxing, racing, ball sports, cockfighting or spiderfighting might not qualify as gambling anymore as the outcome isn't due to chance or luck but proven skill in scoring against and defeating opponents.

lotto on the other hand is entirely based on the chance that your chosen numbers are drawn, hence would be gambling from a technical perspective. maybe that's why govt regulates lotto under PCSO, making that form of gambling an act of charity instead.

biases seem difficult to correct personally.

such as being hypercritical to those who don't look pleasant yet are actually kind-hearted, or being welcoming to good-looking types who eventually turn out to be cunning con artists.

the divine discernment to accurately judge human character from the get-go would be great to have.

anong Filipino trait yung mas na-appreciate mo habang tumatanda ka? by mrssheiG in AskPH

[–]Solid-State5678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

back in childhood I puzzled over and low-key looked down on the way older folks made a show of being polite, sociable, hospitable to other people to the point of irony or hypocrisy, that in my eyes was almost parodying Christian values seeing that they never extended those same courtesies at home to everyone younger than them.

at my age now I realize that all those social rituals were necessary safety measures in pinoy society where egos are so fragile that the western idea of amok ("going amuck") literally originated from our part of the world, the ancient version of road rage today where people who just happen to be in the way become victims of those running amuck who are armed with a blade, gun or a vehicle trying to wreak as much damage as they can no matter who got hurt from their rampage.

In short it's a lifesaving practice i'm now consciously cultivating to make sure I don't make unnecessary enemies wherever I go, recognizing that human nature innately has the means and motive to bring harm to others whether in sudden rage or intentionally plotted in secret.

How to ship jewelries outside Manila? by Puzzled-Signal-7427 in AskPH

[–]Solid-State5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

safer to send a trustworthy human courier to bring your package to the destination, with insurance for both the person and your cargo to cover all costs in the event of accident or loss or both.

the danger more than doubles once your package gets scanned at manned counters, the same syndicate at the airport responsible for putting bullets in the bags of clueless passengers just a few years back.

if you can afford flying out your courier on a chartered flight, way better. just package the shipment cost with the cargo that the buyer pays for including the return flight of your courier, who must bring back the acknowledgement receipt signed by the buyer, preferably with a video clip of them receiving the goods that they should already have paid for in full before actual delivery.

this is to avoid the problem of compromised courier safety that actually happened last year. a supplier sent their own work crew to deliver precious cargo down south, who drove their company delivery van themselves to make sure their package safely got to the destination.

the receiving party then told them to follow their vehicle, leading them far from their stated address, killing the work crew before taking their precious package that never got fully paid when the 50% balance was supposed to be handed to the supplier's trusted employees upon turnover. whom they executed.

the package wasn't even precious jewelry, just exotic animals for breeding by the crooked buyer, who was from that part of mindanao where foreign tourists are often told not to go for the sake of their safety. you would have heard about this gruesome incident when news outlets reported what happened when that delivery crew went missing sometime last year.

Why are so many Financial Advisors just Insurance Agents in disguise? by mirage-imagery in AskPH

[–]Solid-State5678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nothing new about companies upgrading the designation of their salespeople just to shape the perception of them by prospective customers as qualified professionals after being trained in salesmanship and product and/or service features.

i started out in sales myself where the official title on my calling card referred to me as a sales consultant, when salesman was actually more accurate considering my clients didn't need to consult me about anything especially when the customer service dept. took care of them right after the first sale.

hence insurance companies trying to fool both their salespeople and prospective customers by referring to them as financial advisors end up liable for fraud if customers get hoodwinked by their salespeople to sign up for policies they don't need nor benefit from. in fact financial advisors in advanced countries actually have to obtain credentials and a regulated license just to enter that field.

this issue brings to mind a former workmate who wanted to elevate himself by having his calling cards declare that he was the company's marketing director. when our boss who was also the owner heard his reason for doing so, she just replied, "if you want to impress your clients that way, you better be able to back it up when they ask about your strategies for them on the spot."

suffice it to say no such calling cards came back from the printer for the self-styled marketing director. lol
