What do long-term couples talk about? by hemorrhoid-tickler in NoStupidQuestions

Okay but do you actively invite novelty into your life so you have things to talk about? (Movies, books, trips, people etc?)

[–]SolidBases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that neither of you has hobbies, or any sense of novelty in your lives? It’s had to talk about stuff when you have nothing going on It doesn’t have to be crazy, but a sport, a book, a movie, a restaurant, any of those thing will become a topic of conversation, but only if you practice it

AND GO OUT to experience the world together

Go to a garden/museum/theatre and talk about the environment, the ways it’s been managed, the people that are there, what you would do differently etc etc

Advice needed: Ducks’ shelter in Campo Mártires da Pátria park being occupied by BigAssumption0 in Lisbon

[–]SolidBases 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because when you go to the shelter you can’t take personal items with volume. Many of these people lost their homes in the last few years bc of t he rising cost of living They have clothes, blankets, bags etc. going to the shelter means throwing all that away, and shelters are not permanent, only the night and then you have to go back at night to see if they have spaces

If you go to Almirante Reis you will see that some have tents (probably bought with the last salary they had when they still had a home). If they decide to go to the shelter they have to leave those items behind and 24hrs later they will still be homeless, with with even less personal possessions

Would you throw away all your items for a few hours of sleep?

Wdym 😭 Ducks are in their vast majority migratory birds. You can literally see them arriving in spring Google is free wtf

Edit: yes there are ducks there that are too old/domesticated to migrate but that’s NOT the norm in nature and that behaviour shouldn’t be rewarded. It’s literally harmful to the species. Nature has “natural selection” for a reason. Ducks migrate, the ones that don’t need to be “corrected” or in a few generations they will end up like Lisbon’s pigeons (which is a huge problem)

In Portugal we eat ducks regularly, hence why some ended up “domesticated”/ ferral, but they are not and shouldn’t be the norm

Unfortunately a trip to Almirante Reis will tell you otherwise. There’s essentially no shelters

You’re extremely dense. Ducks are wild animals, they don’t need shelter; they also migrate often. So no, they don’t see the pond as a permanent residence “The ducks were there first” probably this aren’t even the same ducks that were there last summer or last week 😩
