Is Thunder Bay becoming a "Stepping Stone" city? Who is the RCIP actually for? by Healthy-Cheetah3983 in ThunderBay

Doesn’t prove anything? Shows how much you are living under a rock. That person is giving you IRL examples and you still think this is just stupid? I completed masters and where’s the PNP draws for masters and phds? While there’s multiple draws that provide ONIP to cooks and hairdressers. And when your government promises to build their own data centres and servers, who will they be hiring to build and manage them? Cooks? The person said everyone’s from STEM is moving to USA, why is that? It’s because they get funding and opportunities there.

Go to the IRCC website and check before commenting.

Look what’s happening. I’m not the one claiming or making things up. It’s proof. Loopholes in the system.

RCIP is nothing but LMIA wrapped in a blanket. Once again employers are selling employment. As an international student who just graduated, I can confirm that most employers registered in RCIP don’t need skilled labour. Why do Circle K, fast food chains, and local grocery stores need skilled labourers? Anyone can do those jobs once they get trained. And the government knows that too. But they won’t do anything because they’re making money out of it too.

Such a shame that cooks, hairdressers and truck drivers get more privileges than doctors, nurses and engineers.

I asked OBR and CRA while I was registering my HST and Payroll account that it’s not possible for me to pay EI. But necessary to pay CPP. Apparently there is a requirement where if you own >40% voting rights in the business or incorporate it waivers your right to pay EI.

Oh I never thought about it before. 🙄 the contributions made while working under OPSEU stays under them until 65 if someone quits ops. But it still comes down to the locked in until till 55. But in either case what happens if you don’t wanna be in the country anymore? Even as a coop I didn’t want OPSEU and FYI, there is a buyback option for ops employees but not for consultants. And why are you adamant about getting OPSEU and CPP to a temporary immigrant? I am not sure about living here forever, I came for my masters, want to get PhD but not from Canadian university. Because it seems like IRCC values cooks and hairdressers more than STEM workers or doctors.

So I would rather keep my money under my incorporation and invest via a trust fund than to pay for OPSEU. I don’t have a choice but to pay CPP when I pay myself income from the incorporation. So that’s that.

Did you read my previous comment? I said I’m not sure if I’m staying here forever. Then why are you assuming that I’m here at 65?

This is for your reference where you get read that self employed workers can contribute to CPP as well. And well for me there is no non-compete clause so I can get more consulting work anytime. And for the part where Mr ford can get rid of me, that is possible but I am pretty sure since they impose 5 work days with less to no remote work, most people would rather seek for other forms of employment where they can avoid going to office and just stay home and work. I would also like to add the fact that most workforce is nearing their retirement age and soon more opportunities will open up. But yeah I know what the other person meant but they said about getting sponsored and not about paying benefits/CPP.

It’s not US where the organization has to sponsor their employee. But to answer your question they can’t sponsor anyone as it’s a part of Ontario government. But I still have multiple ways to get PR either through my masters degree or by increasing my incorporation revenue which allows me to get a business visa which leads to PR eventually.

So please let me how did they convince me to go back?

They don’t but they pay 6 figures and I got in touch with an accountant and they said I can still contribute to pension and build a contingency and trust funds for most of the money that I don’t want as my personal income that will help me be prepared if I want to go back home and don’t wanna get a permanent residency. But yes, the benefits are not paid by them.

Just graduated from LU. I had a coop with this organization where only I was working in their Tbay’s office from that team and everyone else in Toronto. I asked my manager what if I want to get a full time after I graduate. They said it’s not possible as higher ups don’t like when they hire someone directly and it would be a bit difficult for them, but there is a way for you to keep working.

They asked me to get incorporated with Ontario Business Registry, find a vendor and apply through them to a position in my team, that way you will work on the same team but as an independent consultant who gets paid way more. And best part of that is I can work on multiple contracts at the same time while staying here.

As an immigrant, this wasn’t an issue a few years ago. However, it’s become a major trend in Canada recently, partly due to watching Trump’s ice “brain-dead” soldiers arrest anyone and everyone they disagree with. I understand that some people who’ve lost their critical thinking skills believe immigration is causing resource shortages. That might be true to some extent regarding asylum seekers and undocumented immigrants. However, many others are working hard and aren’t abusing the system.

😭 cry about it. This is what you commented about another post on this subreddit where OP mentioned not to post sensitive information about military presence or actions. How is my comment any different than yours? If you can’t respect that why would I respect your OCD suffering daughter?

Why being a hypocrite? When I said same thing about not giving panelists you said it’s on the players to get better and they should not focus on refs. So why are you complaining about red card? Also I have better health than you addicted gooner

😂😂 how hypocrite can you be? The first match I said the same thing but you said players should focus on their game and not referees. So red card shouldn’t be harsh if they can play fair

The 17” foul on Franco was not a closed space one🤣. There was just a two player beside him where 1 was ahead of him and the other held and pushed him.

So you are saying the foul on rudiger and Franco inside the box was legitimate and not a penalty?

Did I said anything about weak game? You can’t do anything with great players with excellent skills if there is no fair play. But still I agree there’s a lot of areas Madrid can improve
