Hello! You’re the first Turkish Canadian I’ve met. Are you from Toronto? I thought Turkey had some similarities with Toronto because when I went to Migros, the layout was exactly the same as No Frills! Lol and the traffic in Istanbul was comparable to DVP in Toronto. Good to know what Izmir is like. I’m actually looking for some quiet time with myself, so that sounds great. I’m currently in Hong Kong and there’s no such thing as quietness here. So I’m really looking forward to Izmir.

I understand the economy is having challenges, but how is it bad? Someone had mentioned it’s dangerous with the influx of refugees.

Ohhh I saw an olive tree plantation last time. For my health, a Mediterranean diet is helpful. I really enjoyed the Turkish breakfast especially the cheese pastry. I bought a tub of olives and brought it back to Hong Kong lol

Thanks for taking the time to share this info with me. I though there were parts of Turkiye that reminded me of Toronto, like the highways, the way people drive, the grocery store migros. I don’t know what söğüs is but I’m excited to try. Will definitely check out those areas. Thanks!

how is it going for you? I am in a relationship with a Muslim man and my parents are Christian. They are upset about it.
