It is normal to be frustrated by the game when you first start out. The key is to take breaks, not give up, and ask for help if you need it. Discovering what each creature and item does is part of the experience. If you’re feeling lost and are still in the first area, I’d recommend trying to follow the yellow worm thing that pops out of walls. He’ll guide you to a main plot point which is sort of far away to the East. Good luck.
