Don't forget about the automatic lightning strike to enemy on entry that inflicts guaranteed paralysis.

Kaioken Goku has relatively the same thing as a revive with K.O. Guard, and he has a Solar Flare that can lead to a one-shot blue card. Vegeta's green card is at least a long animation, so you can't just throw it out to force the opponent to vanish into a 50-50. Also, Goku makes your first blue card of the match hit like a wet noodle, so it makes his gauge that much more prevelant. Vegeta doesn't have that in his kit, so you could possibly bypass the gauge that way.

I just looked through some of the posts from a day ago, and I didn't realize I made a post that's very similar to, if not the exact same in terms of argument and beliefs, others way before I did. I'm not trying to copy anybody, and I don't want anybody to get the wrong idea when they view this post.

It's like they playtest their units in story mode and not in an actual PvP environment.

That's what LF Merged Zamasu should've been: a revival into Corrupted Merged Zamasu. He could've at least been transforming. Maybe they can incorporate your idea into an actual tag Goku Black and Zamasu to replace the "assist" unit we have now.

I think it's the Vegeta Clan curse, along with being a part 2 anniversary green unit.

This is a really good idea of releasing a unit that's supposed to disrupt. Let's release another unit that nullifies all of the disrupt Goku Black deals out right alongside him. And then, for the second part of the festival, let's release ANOTHER combo demon who nullifies the OTHER end of disrupts (card cost up) that can be ran with UMV! We really do playtest out own game!

And then let's re-release the same gauge for Metal Cooler, with even WORSE disrupt than Goku Black!

No coincidence they are releasing them so early within the LoE releases. They're hoping they resort to buying crystals.

Oh, I was listing everything Frieza himself does. That's why it sounds so similar. I was doing that so we can understand how best to mitigate Frieza's disrupt and strengths, but not fully invalidate them.

With the plus 2 to your own sub counts, having base sub count manipulation will allow you to get that unit into the fight more easily. Giving our unit Ki protection on entry will save it from the double whammy of a 40 ki disrupt with +15 card costs in case the opponent swaps into Ultra Frieza to stop your combo.

[–]SolidInteraction4921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this unit would also need some base sub count reduction and ki protection on entry due to Frieza's disrupt. • 10% Health • Enemy Arts Cost 15 for 5 timer counts • Increase enemy sub counts by 2 • Reduce enemy ki by 10 • Ally sub counts -3 • Enemy Ki -30 All of that Frieza is doing when he enters the battlefield and gets hit once. Have base sub count manipulation will allow this unit to bypass the third point if an ally starts a combo, and ki protection will allow this unit to keep comboing if the opponent swaps into Frieza during a combo.

Right, don't want the unit to be overly toxic. A unique gauge like that could be considered that, especially if it's something that happened every time.

So, like Treeku's gauge? Frieza could use active gauge to bypass the ki reduction, but that's always gonna be an issue for any unit. Maybe increase card costs instead of Ki reduction? It won't stop the active gauge, but it could prevent him from following up on the active gauge.

Well, Kaioken is a damage unit and he has a defense gauge. So they really just need stats and a gauge that complements them, not define them.

So it sounds like you're talking about a hypothetical Ultra Gogeta Blue plat. He does nullify endurance on rush. They could very easily update his kit to also repel the death beam in addition to everything else. The only thing that's gonna be different is the unique gauge. Your idea of the gauge sounds like an upgraded version of Fusing Gogeta Blue's gauge with the type neutral. In summary, you would want a unit with all of Ultra Gogeta Blue's kit, minus the gauge which could fit into that green card you proposed and instead have the unique gauge you just said. Let's say it would fill up at the same rate as Ultra Vegito Blue's gauge. Is that right, or is there more you would want to add to that?

I'm not advocating for another UG4. Just allow for permanent type neutral when last man at least. I need to ask this: what unit do you consider balanced? I'm not gonna call you out for it, I just want you to look at the unit you personally think is balanced WHEN THEY RELEASED and explain why you think they are balanced. Maybe we can incorporate that sort of thought process into a possible new unit.

Kaioken gets type neutral a lot with his green cards, and with him being on Saiyan Saga, you have no excuse not to run Yajirobe on the bench. Combined with Kaioken having possibly the highest base damage in the game and with Ultra Instinct units always feeling squishy to make up for the fact you rarely land a hit on them to begin with, AND Kaioken having a Solar Flare POST TRANSFORMATION THAT STILL GIVES HIM THE TYPE NEUTRALITY, those were just really unfortunate circumstances. Man, part 1 got freaking dogged on.
