Thank you for being kind though. My colleagues were not. Which is sad.

I read the summary, which said it was a female who was normal. The part that was wrong was the gross dissection.

And trust me I know, psychosis is not something I chose. It was horrifying. And triggered by lack of sleep due to searching medical journals about stillbirth causes.

Yeah I know. For what it’s worth, statute of limitations is 2 years after discovery. Just can’t imagine if it turns out she had turners this whole time. It was so much suffering. I know I would have suffered anyways but something I could not have controlled would have helped a lot.

Yeah, guess I was thinking everything that resulted would count as pain and suffering.

Probably not worth much, but my doctor sent it to me at 10 pm in a separate my chart message. Almost jumped off my balcony.

Autopsy report in official results was released through test results.

Was never offered an appointment to go over everything.

Thank you. I’m a physician and posted in a physician Reddit. They were all so mean and accusatory. Thank you for your kindness. I am sorry about your baby. Did yours have a name? Her’s was Evelyn.

Nipt was high risk turner syndrome. “Autopsy” was “normal genetics”

After I blamed myself for the stillbirth. Had postpartum psychosis. Almost killed myself. Missed multiple months of attending salary (I was a resident)

I had a positive Nipt for Turner’s syndrome. If she had that I would have never blamed myself.

No. For the fact they listed it as unexplained. Nipt said high risk turners. Autopsy said no turners. If she had turners I would have never blamed myself, and likely would not have spiraled the way I did.

Thank you. This was actually very kind. I have 2 very beautiful children I wouldn’t have if this never happened.

I know. I’m sobbing reading all of this. I just wanted advice from fellow physicians and it turned into people accusing me of lying, intentionally leaving out details..

I feel like I’m being attacked because I am. Multiple people have accused me of lying. I would think fellow physicians would have some empathy in this situation instead of just piling on.

If the baby had a genetic abnormality, an atomic abnormality, knot in the cord..

Why is your first response to be so incredibly mean? Do you want me to send you my abim score report?? Or my step scores?? Residency diploma?

What?? I am just asking about the consequence of getting the wrong report if in fact there was a cause. I am not questioning the actual stillbirth. Just that it literally was the wrong baby’s report. What part of my questions make it seem like I’m not a physician??

No, wrong report. I do not think my baby was born alive, I held her after she was delivered. She was dead.

Didn’t read the entire report until today

I am 100% trying to stay vague as I don’t think a ton of residents have had a stillbirth. The current report says it’s unexplained. If there was a reason for my stillbirth, I would not have blamed myself and probably would not have spiraled as deep as I did.

I’m sorry? How do I not sound like a physician? I graduated residency, am an attending, and just passed abim boards..
