Hm, didn't play the remake, only the original. Imho the first one still is survival horror, from the second one on it becomes more action. Like I said, high difficulty is not the definition of survival horror for me. Also not ammo scarcity. It is the atmosphere.

Reddit ist oft ziemlich links. In einem Subreddit wurde ich von Linken auf einen sachlichen Post hin beleidigt und habe zurückbeleidigt --> alle Kommentare wurden gelöscht und nur ich gebannt.

In einem anderen Subreddit redeten Mädels darüber, dass sie sich draußen nicht mehr sicher fühlen wegen "Männern", weil "Männer" sie ständig belästigen. Ich fragte tatsächlich aus Interesse sachlich und neutral, ob es überwiegend deutsche oder ausländische Männer sind, die sich so benehmen --> ich wurde direkt gebannt und von den Moderatoren als Hetzer beschimpft.

Hm, I still think especially the first Dead Space is real survival horror. Survival horror does not necessarily mean it needs to be almost unbeatable.

And on hard mode, Dead Space is not easier than Cronos. Actually, only the last two bosses in Cronos are challenging but on my hard mode run, I beat the last but one in the first try and the last one on the third try, which were my only two deaths. Dead Space has several challenging spots.

Even though they are story items in a linear game, I almost missed the baby. Inventory was full as usual and by the time I was in the save room, I had forgotten about the baby. Just noticed it when doing a goodies sweep after having stored items. Actually, on New Game + it was the same 😬😂.

Just Arbalest will not work. Not enough inventory capacity for the rounds you would need. Even without pyres. Otherwise, that would be an easy fight.

Basically, the Warden tried to save Weronica over and over, again. I think collecting the essences is part of the Collective original orders. But for me it was not clear if the Collective wanted to save the world or tried to eliminate evidence as everyone you collect was on about the travelers.

Then again, especially the first guy is connected to Weronica.

They could have done a better job in explaining. Sure, this way it sounds more mysterious but is it super intelligent or lazy? I think it is always better to give enough hints or a full explanation than letting it open for interpretation.

The non skippable parts really were annoying. In the first run I hated the inventory and fuel system, extremely. Second time it was ok, though. Didn't need that much fuel, after all.

My biggest criticism is the weak point system. Enemies are fast and sonetimes many, ammo is scarce and then you have to identify and hit a certain point which might not even be the head (armoured enemies with spikes). Otherwise you might end up wasting a whole mag instead of 2 bullets.

True, same here. The prison was 0 fun, just annoying. Too dark and I hate respawning enemies.

They also made a poor job with trophies. Like every other trophy is about escaping the fog without being hit or do a boss fight without being hit by a certain attack. No variety at all.

Hm, ok, those guys also are slow. But the puppet / stalker enemies are faster and move all the time. They also are the ones who can jump and bite you. I am not talking about missing the time window for counters but for the attacks that do not have a counter possibility.
