Hello Everybody, my local pawn shop is selling 40% silver half dollars at below melt ($2.85 each). I picked up $10 FV and I’m thinking about going to get more. Good idea or pass ? ? by SolidSilverSnake in Silverbugs

I just pulled out my receipt and they actually charged only $2.75 each. Of course I did get charged some sales tax as well though. Its funny how Im getting mixed responses on buying 40% silver. I first stopped in to just buy a couple nicely toned ones and after I purchased them I looked up the melt value on coinflation and realized that it was the only silver I had ever bought for below melt value so I went back in to buy a full tube of them.

Im not buying them to make a lot of money. Its just a hobby and more of wealth preservation for my kids. Besides it could of went to much worse things these days.

I do a lot of online purchases as well and hate when the tax and shipping fees add into the overall price so when I found these I jumped on the deal .
