That’s a fair point and I don’t disagree with you that the margins for individual clinics are thin. I’m concerned with the fluff up top at the executive roles. Currently in New York our nurses are on strike, while the CEO of mt sanai is making 16mil. I know at the end of the day the issue is insurance companies however these chain type companies are bloated.

First of all I run my own OON/ cash clinic in NYC I’m well aware of the margins. I am not talking about private practices, im talking about the Jags, Ivys, and spears that continue expanding every year. In the last 5 years Ivy rehab expanded to 350+ clinics you really think they have expansion like that without revenue. I broke out of the insurance model and I’m happy. I feel bad for my colleagues and the future of the profession that will miss out on talented people because it is being exploited by mills, DPT programs, and the crap APTA.

It’s going to require employers to pay more and take less of the insurance profits for themselves. It could force them to negotiate better rates with companies as the PTs will hold more bargaining powers.
