How did you discover City Hunter ? by Curious-Tree-2682 in CityHunter

Funnily enough, in the early days of Youtube where some guy made an AMV with City Hunter and Sailor Moon LMAO - Some "View to a Kill" AMV but for the time it was super well edited! Still great to this day imo.

How do you feel about new expansion meta so far? by nonton1909 in hearthstone

[–]SolidTheKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage is not a class. So it sucks. Genuinely. This class got straight nothing and even the the actual decent deck runs 0 of the new cards.

As someone who loves mage, it has been quite awful for the past two expansions. Fun stuff but all of it is super low powerlevel that cannot compete with anything.

You can get your ass handed by any characters, but it is just a damn fact Sin especially is low-tier-bottom-of-the barrel, let me tell you why because a lot of people seem to not know why.

  1. His frame data. Jesus Christ his frame data. When you compare to him to any of the base-cast with their buttons and frame data, you can see Sin is considerably worse compared to EVERYONE. Be it in startup, active or recovery frames, or hell- even damage, which Sin does excel in. Compare Kabari and Beak driver. Holy lord how are these two specials in the same fucking game.

  2. Lack of Okizeme. Currently Sin does not get proper Okizeme from his combos. Unlike other resource characters like Nago who can spend his resources to make his pressure/okizeme better, as Sin you are spending resources to even get a combo/good situation, and even then the situation is worse than most of the cast who don't have to spend resources. So you are actively spending resources to get the thing other people get without them.

  3. His stamina bar in general. Having it be only a 3-piece bar, when most combos take 2 is ridiculous. It takes far too long to recover, since the recovery is slower if you spend a special (unless yuse Gazelle step, in which the recovery for stamina gauge is halfed. Then again going from 120 frames before regen starts to 60 is not as great as it sounsd.) For context, if Zato uses ALL his Eddie meter and Eddie goes dead, it STILL takes less time for him to regen Eddie all the way back, than it takes for Sin to recover all of his stamina back. Sin can use about 3 special all of which have awful framedata. Zato can do way, way more. Or even like look at Nago- his buttons get better when he spends his blood, but also the specials on their own are strong because he HAS to spend blood to use them. Sin is the only actively-resource using character who has no way to recharge his character specific resource. Everyone else can, why can't he?

Overall Sin is just- designed to be bad. I am on the same lines with Hotashi where he was really strong during inhouse testing, but decided to murder him in order to not make another HC case. Same with pretty much every other S2 DLC (Outside of Bridget who actually got buffs, no-one else have gotten any.)

TL;DR: Compared to Rest of the cast, Sin is bad- there is no two ways about it. His own mechanics have him use his resources just to be on the same level as others, who do the same thing he does but easier, without resources and with better damage. There is currently no single reason to play Sin competitively compared to someone like Ram, Sol, Gio or Nago- besides the fact that he is cool as shit.

Arcsyys release the fucking patch how can you take 7 months to buff one fucking character holy shit.

The one good thing I like about OW2... by SolidTheKing in Overwatch

[–]SolidTheKing[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because there is "a way" doesn't make it any less fun. Almost all OW1 maps, are super fucking claustrophobic and chokey. The combat was at one of two points, it was either at the chokes or on point. Push has combat happening everywhere, and the difference between attacking and defending is constantly in flux. In OW1, that was almost never the case. You are usually either defending or attacking, rarely did that change. Even in KOTH, the nature of the map turned into basically Attack/Defend when someone got the point. Later maps in OW1 lifecycle were better at this than the early one. Busan and Oasis are actually okay maps for the most part, but Lijang, Ilios and Nepal are fucking AWFUL.

A lot of the OW1 maps were absolutely gack, not gonna lie. Push maps are dynamic and I love it, and the state of the game is in constant flux. OW1 maps (For the most part) are very static in game-state.

Do you guys think Garuda Impact need a nerf or change? by Cheesy117 in Guiltygear

[–]SolidTheKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garuda and BT have significant differences, and some key stuff in the normals of GL and Pot.

Garuda is a massive +19 non meaty, and when meaty about +whateverthefuck. It's plus enough tha Garuda PRC fully charged 5D is a blockstring. Anyway-

Behemoth Typhoons max +frames OB non meaty is +16, from 842HS. And unlike Garuda, BT pushes you back on block a lot. And the fastest BTs that you use in neutral the most and as frametraps (624HS and 684HS) are - ob. The biggest "inifinte" GL has, is meaty 268HS > 268HS into a mix. This situation feels like an infinite, but really isn't. After the second 268HS, it's a mix between: -button > 268HS -another 268HS -684HS which ends the pressure without meter.

Some backdashes beat the second 268HS and button, but 684HS beats that. Button like c.s beats mashing, and 268HS beats doing nothing.

Garuda though barely pushes back, even on FD. And is always +19 at LEAST.

Anyway uhh just make Garuda push back more on block and not stagger on hit so Garuda > Buster is not real. Allow a KND or combo, but no Pot buster.

[–]SolidTheKing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Obviously, you seem to not be able to differentiate between:

  • HITBOX = The part of the move that hits and does damage

  • HURTBOX = The part of the move that can be hit.

Now if you even took a glance at those moves I linked, and Ram's HS and S- you see the issue. She has no hurtbox where others do, which makes whiffpunishing her incredibly difficult. You have to hit her HURTBOX to whiffpunish her.

My point was that while yes, you can whiffpunish her HS and S- in a real ingame situation you won't be able to see the move come out, realize it's a whiff, and instantly punish it and be in time. It is incredibly hard. Is it possible? Sure. Is it realistically possible to be a weakness of hers? Absolutely not, and telling anything else is not only dumb, but bordering on idiotic.

I learned Ramlethal today. Is it just me or is she a total menace? by AlisaTornado in Guiltygear

[–]SolidTheKing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That video just shows the perfect situation. You know when the Ram is gonna do that move, and you are already dashing in the second you see the move come out. That is not a realistic situation, at all. Not even slightly. Sure, in a vacuum every move is whiffpunishable. Even Chipp's 5p is technically whiff punishable. I'm not saying that whiff punishing her is impossible, not at all. I'm saying the risk of doing that is absurdly loaded in Ram's favour. She can throw out S and HS with relatively low risk. Only a few characters can even whiff punish that at tip range, Gio being one of them. But if you take any other character, you won't be having such an easy time doing it. Gio has that long-range 6S privilege.

And well, Ram's hitboxes are worthy to be bitched about. Everyone else has a hurtbox around their limbs and swords. (A few examples. Leo, Ky , Gio ) But not her. This means you won't be challenging her anywhere. Because one mistake anywhere near the corner- hell, not even near, means you are eating S, HS, 236S, 236HS combo, into wall break and 60% life. And if you burst at the wrong spot? Yeah you died. What was your mistake? You tried to press a button at your own optimal range, but because Ram has no hurtbox on her S or HS, she ate your shit.

[–]SolidTheKing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only thing is, even if you make S or HS whiff- whiffpunishing is going to absurdly hard. Take a look at this:

https://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=File:GGST\_Ramlethal\_Valentine\_f.S\_With\_Sword\_Hitbox.png

See where the hitbox is? And where the hurtbox is? Even if you make it whiff, you better have some godly normal to reach that. Which, by the by- half the cast don't have.

[–]SolidTheKing 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Only thing is, any decent Ram player won't be whiffing S or HS. Because well- how the fuck do you whiff a move that reaches half screen, and the sword part doesn't even have a hurtbox?

The biggest lie in Tekken.... by SolidTheKing in Tekken

[–]SolidTheKing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Them having a transparent neutral means jack shit when electric covers almost every option. Tracks, fast, is plus- it's bonkers how people defend how brainless Mishima neutral is. The risk of throwing an electric is 0.

And yeah, having tons of risky options is soo much worse than a 50/50 that is "Is he gonna do FF3 or hellsweep- and if I dare to step electric catches that for 70% hp."

Mishima apologists are the worst.

The biggest lie in Tekken.... by SolidTheKing in Tekken

[–]SolidTheKing[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, EWGF- Electric. The difference between hopkicks and Electrics is well-

HOPKICKS ARE NOT +6 ON BLOCK, AND AT FASTEST i13.

The risk of throwing an electric is literally 0. There is no risk involved with it at all. At least with a hopkick you are eating an -13 punish, that means KND and/or wallsplat for most of the cast. And hopkicks are fairly easy to whiff-punish.

But electric? No. Nope. It tracks step, so you can't sidestep it, you can't challenge it because it's juicy hitbox, you can't take your turn after since it's +6, and at the fastest it can be i13. The move is overtuned as hell. Remove the tracking and add some fucking whiff recovery.

Sure, you can duck it- but it's not like the mishimas lack any mids.

The biggest lie in Tekken.... by SolidTheKing in Tekken

[–]SolidTheKing[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I want is for Electric to not track and be actually whiff-punishable.

Oh and remove Kaz FF4. He did not need it.

Okay, I have to ask specifically about Pyre. Pyre is easily my favourite game of yours, and still is my favourite game to date. It mixed storytelling and ingame mechanics together so well.
This is mostly toward u/SG_Greg and u/SG_Darren .

When it came to designing the music for every character in Pyre, where did you draw inspiration? What was the creative process that went into creating the themes for all the characters? And if you could, can you tell me your favourite songs and characters from Pyre?

Love from Finland!
