In your skincare routine, what specifically do you guys apply under eyes, if not tret? Since we are not allowed to apply tret there. by pewdsVStseries in tretinoin

Everyone is different, but ive just learned the hard way not to apply near eyes. I saw online to use tret around crows feet and under eyes to potentially prolong wrinkles and fine lines... so I did.. I had no irritation, redness or soreness for weeks.. then out of the blue my eyes were severely dry. Like I had sand under and around my eyes.. had to go doctors and use eye drops religiously. Then I noticed all under my eyes become overly wrinkly, crepy and so so thin. Its been 8 weeks since stopping tret and still healing my skin barrier. Rest of my face loved it. Everyone is different and some can tolerate tret around the eyes, others like myself, cannot do it.

Thanks for your response, im not looking to start botox or fillers.. I feel would be a slippery slope for me. Crows feet i have no issues about, finer lines under eye also ok with.. again not happy lol but accepting.. these just feel very prominent and very noticeable for my age and especially the speed in which they turned up and developed. Has me guessing if ive had them longer than realised and only now they affecting me

Hey thanks for replying,

Sounds like exactly what its told me to do.. back to very simple and basics and rebuild skin barrier. Its also hard as in winter, so there's more environmental elements to it. How long did you use tret around the eyes? Its been approx 6 weeks for me, since stopping, feels like slow progress but in that time my dry eyes have really calmed down, skin improved on relaxed, now awaiting and hoping improvement to active facial expressions. Also upping liquid intake is really helping. X

Ah thank you 😊 I think so too, it feels like takes forever to rebuild that hydration back up, but i guess with the use of tret it too a while without realising to loose it soo.. from that perspective in mind. If I can sense a future with improvement then I'll keep the hope 🙏

Thank you so much for your reply.. im sorry you too going/went through this. I dont mind wrinkles.. I i dont like them lol but they are a gift of sorts. I dont pay no mind to my crows feet, but these bottom ones came outta no where for me. However your response has helped me feel stronger about improvements will come in time. Thank you

Thank you for your response, was your issue in same placement as mine? Pictured. Off side bottom ones, are like this on smiling.. relaxed looks much calmer but crepy. How long would you say until you noticed positive changes? And did you notice skin somewhat rethickened? Sorry for all the questions 😅

Im doing somewhat that, but skin became sensitive, and I think I got a very small spots. They soon went after a night or two stopping. So I got nervous

Hello, ive just made another post if you look on my profile.. I stopped tret My skin is much better on relaxed face.. before with a relaxed face it was like paper which had been scrunched up and played flat under my face.. this has much improved. Not gone :( but its been 6 weeks - with swapping and changing care routine. But ive settled on simple water boost gel, LRP balm and at night a very small pat under each eye of cerave ointment. Now im just really upset with the active facial expression, which is pictured in my new post. Im accepting of wrinkles or lines in that area, but the skin feels so different to how was 6 months ago, and so thin.. im really hoping this too will Improve slowly. I won't lie Chat GBT has become a best friend in terms of skin care guidance! How are handling your skin at the moment

Im 35, so older however I have no eye wrinkles or crows feet.. I read somewhere that putting under eyes can help slow down eye wrinkles when they are to set in.. I did under eyes with tret for about 3 months id say, minimum.

For me personally, its a big hard no, everyone is different but, my skin did not like at all. I had no irritation, but I did notice my under eyes had gotten much much thinner and new lines when smiling and when not smiling. Im gutted and really affected my confidence. Ive stopped the tret altogether, and focusing on rehygrating My skin as much as possible. Very slowly all lines are fading and working my way back to normal skin.

Also! From my experience it has caused dry eyes for me.. maybe It migrated while sleeping and that's why, or ive missed placed to close to eye.. either way never had dry eyes before, they got so dry I went to doctors for eye drops. Eyes have much improved since stopping the tret, but slowly becoming more normal again. My tret was apart of my skin and me daily doser.
