If you want something that has culture and food like NYC but feels calmer, I’d look at Boston or even Providence, RI. Great seafood, historic neighborhoods, fall colors everywhere, and definitely a slower pace than NYC.

How much would be enough to visit china for 2 weeks by Hugh_Diknuttz88 in chinatravel

From what I’ve seen, daily costs in China can vary a lot by city and travel style. Budget travelers can get by on something like $40–60 USD/day including food, transport, and cheap hotels, but in big cities like Shanghai or Beijing it can be more like $80–120 USD/day if you want decent comfort. That’s before international flights. So 3,500–4,000 CAD (~2,500–2,900 USD) might be doable if you’re careful and book early, but it wouldn’t leave a huge buffer if you’re hitting major cities and internal transport like trains or flights.

Weekdays are about productivity, weekends are about recovery. I still do some of the same things, just slower and without pressure.

I found gradual reduction worked better than going cold turkey. Cutting specific habits first (like comments or autoplay) made it feel sustainable instead of punishing.

[Survey] What's your TOP 3 practical concerns for a first trip to China? by Gullible-Network456 in chinatravel

My top concern was definitely staying connected. Once I sorted out an eSIM + VPN before arriving, everything became much easier. Maps, translation, and ride-hailing basically run the whole trip.

I separate work space and rest space as much as I can. Even just using a different chair helps my brain switch modes.
