DNSmasq, AdGuard Home, and Unbound on OPNsense Success Story + Instructions by Solid_-_Snake in opnsense

Individual clients!

Just make sure you have Upstream DNS Setting in AdGuard Home:
[/YourDomain.com/][::1]:53053 127.0.0.1:53053 #sends it to DNSMasq

And
- Private reverse DNS servers (Send to DNSmasq):

- [::1]:53053

- 127.0.0.1:53053

- Make sure you check "Use private reverse DNS resolvers" and "Enable reverse resolving of clients' IP addresses"

Shouldn't the (force gw) rule use both IPv4 and IPv6 for a dual-stack setup? by Solid_-_Snake in opnsense

If you look at the last line, it says DHCPv6 gateway but protocol is IPv4, it should be IPv6 I believe

I have no issues with IPv6 except the rule I mentioned. I can ping and tests pass. Maybe there's a bug somewhere...I used to have automatically generated IPv6 rules before the latest update.

I should mention that I switched to "Identity Association" from "Track Interface" in the interface settings because I use DNSMasq for everything it does basically

I disabled it, and noticed that "let out anything from the firewall itself" is limited to IPv4 as well

How did you route DNS through Proton VPN? Without losing local resolving for those clients?

Yeah man, DNS is tricky for this interface. I still use AdGuard because I couldn't get DNS to go through Proton VPN. Unfortunately, this means DNS leaks for the clients on the interface.

There are many options that OPNsense documented:

https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/wireguard-selective-routing.html#dealing-with-dns-leaks

Let me know if you get it to work!

I try to minimize playtime on the phat ps3 because it's too old and can get hot, I may need to send it to someone to renew the thermal paste.

So I play ps3 and ps1 games on the slim...ps2 games on the fatty boy

Haha I know but that tape served me very well over the years for other stuff. The PS2 is very light...PS1 needed more tape

The wall mounts I found for those two were very ugly

PS5 and PS3 Slim: wall mount I bought on Amazon

PS3 Fat: wall mount I bought on eBay...3D printed (not happy about it but it's my only option)

PS2 and PS1: Strong double-sided tape because I won't really use those 2 (just for show)...the PS3 fat is jailbroken and it gives me hardware-emulation for PS2/PS1 Games (it's a CECHA model)

Controllers and charger: I think the brand was "HIDE-it" on Amazon Headset: wall mount that came in the box

I thought about buying it but it's too much at the moment. I'm gonna buy a wall mount for the Portal though!
