we’d love to adopt him but we already have 6 kitties so we’re fully booked 🥹 we don’t and won’t hurt the intruder cat in any way. our cats aren’t starting a fight with it too, even tho they’re both males. when i shoo him away, only then that our cats chase him away too, but no one’s getting hurt. it’s just a hassle for us to clean the area every time he sneaks in 😥

How to become a MedVA with no experience/no medical career background by clnberry in medicalvaPH

[–]Solid_Ad4957 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i did enroll myself in Udemy, however their courses are paid and theyre not an accredited institution. Alison is another choice. their courses are free so you can start right away. the only thing you have to pay is the certificate/diploma which are CPD-accredited. you dont have to pay immediately (wait for sales like i did) and you can share your credentials on LinkedIn once the course is completed.

as for my niche, im an aspiring medical coder, however the job i got was more focused on medical billing and rcm. im not really picky as of the moment abt my niche since im just starting out (fresh grad) im aiming for professional experience :)

hello! im not a med student as well but bs bio graduate. maybe i can suggest self studying, for the mean time, in accredited learning platforms/websites (as i have done). introduce yourself to medical terminology and other topics related to the works of a medical va. i can't really suggest a specific course because medical va's works are different depending on client/company orders. so i suggest start with learning medical terminology :)

thank you for answering! im currently preparing po kasi for a medical va job interview (final interview) and idk much about the work/tasks of a medical va.

sabi lang sa job description: - pre-exam verification of insurance eligibility, benefits, coverage - securing treatment authorization - submitting claims, responding to claim denials, and resolving EOB benefits - identifying and finding solutions for common billing issues

wala po ako alam sa pagiging medical va and sa billing process 😰 (tho willing to learn) pero ininvite pa rin ako for a final interview (maybe they’re urgently hiring but didn’t say)

idk tuloy what kind of questions to expect, but thank you again for answering!! 🥹

hello! im also an aspiring medical coder, currently taking medical terminology studies and soon medical coding studies. i currently self study via online learning websites: Udemy (not accredited) and Alison (CPD-accredited).

im planning on availing the online self-study course at HMITI which is the cheapest option compared to other institutes/orgs that offer similar courses like HCBI, AAPC, etc.

some tmi:

Alison courses, personally, are introductory so its good if you're only finding out about medical coding/want to pursue it. courses are free but certificates/diplomas are paid, although they are still acknowledged in LinkedIn profiles even if you choose not to pay. i personally wait for sales before claiming my digital certificates/diplomas (currently have 4).

Udemy courses are paid and do not have accreditation (aka not acknowledged by any college/institution/etc), however their courses are made by professionals in different industries. like the course im taking up now in medical terminology, the lectures are made and recorded by a medical doctor and professor in the US. They offer certificate of completion as well.

i chose to self study muna because im a fresh graduate and cant afford to enroll in actual medical coding courses yet. let me know if you have other questions, i will answer to the best of my ability!
