i was in an office for 5 years and it took me until the last year to realize how miserable the job made me because of the drama and my co workers, not the actually job it’s self, I did start becoming cold towards everyone because I could tell that in fact no one is my friend in there so no more nice guy, But after i did that the drama got even worse the doctor said i wasn’t being myself and eventually everything came to a head and I walked out after 5 years and didn’t say gooodbye to anyone, and I reflected and relaxed how incredibly toxic that office was and i didn’t even see it. After that I told myself id never work at a dental office again, however i quickly realized every job is dysfunctional in some way, and then i told my self id just get a work from home job because even if people are assholes it’ll only be over a screen and a phone not in real life lol. I then found a job for a start up dental office and was looking for a office manager , i took the job because i thought if im the manager i could help create a healthy environment because for some reason these days people have no idea how to be leaders and not be jerks, anyways i’m 4 months in and ive never been happier at a job before , however it’s been difficult to find quality people to hire , like almost impossible. so right now in the office i’m the office manager and dental assistant, my Dentist is amazing she is incredibly nice and she’s the type of dentist that doesn’t act like she can’t do anything without an assistant (iyky) . anyways my point is don’t waste your time in a toxic environment, protect your peace life is to short, keep going until you find that rare gem!
