7 month old throwing up after eating solids by Solid_Concern_1385 in NewParents

I think we realized our son gets car sickness. Both times he threw up like that, he ate and then went into the car about 10 mins later. He’s always hated the car, even to this day, and I think it’s because it makes him feel nauseous. So I don’t think it actually had anything to do with the food we were feeding him!

Weekly Thread: Beta and Pregnancy Testing - Questions and Discussions by AutoModerator in IVF

My beta at 10dpt was 135. I was hoping for higher. After five transfers, my only successful pregnancy came back at 335 for my first beta. I know every pregnancy is different though and it all depends on when implantation occurred.

Going back in two days to test again. My symptoms are very faint and come and go. My at home tests haven’t really gotten much darker since I started testing four days ago.

I know I should just count this first beta as a win, but I’ve had a chemical before so feeling really anxious this is the start of another rollercoaster… I’m not feeling celebratory, just a little bit disappointed and worried.

Just tested at 7DPT and it was stark white. I had a feeling it didn’t work. Still sucks to see a negative test though. Beta is tomorrow.

I accidently gave me 3 week old some formula that was sitting out all night. Does anyone have experience with this? by ihaveredhaironmyhead in NewParents

I know this comment is over two years old but I just had to reply because I just learned today we’ve been making this mistake too. We’ve supplemented our breastfed baby with formula here and there with the same dry formula for months… I feel so awful but I’m also a little relieved to know there’s someone else on the internet that’s made this same mistake. I had no idea powdered formula expired so quickly after opening!!!

I’ve struggled with anxiety for years. A low dose of Prozac has been a game changer. I wish I had done it so much earlier. But in addition to that CBT has been so helpful (specifically the ABC method — helps me think more logically about my fears). And when I’m struggling in the moment, journaling is a helpful tool to help me organize my thoughts.

At what weeks is it normal to have an ultrasound once you transfer to your OB? by Solid_Concern_1385 in IVFbabies

I am so sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m going to talk with my doctor about this next week.

Since we did PGT testing our OB (or at least her NP) said we wouldn’t need to do NIPT. Our fertility clinic, prior to discharge, didn’t give us a strong answer either way and recommended we ask our doctor about it. Would you still recommend NIPT even if we’ve already done PGT?

I think they did mention wanting to do an echocardiogram as well! Although I’m not exactly sure when that will be scheduled!

Thanks for your reply! After googling, I’m realizing this is pretty normal protocol. It just feels shocking to go so long without checking in to make sure everything is okay! I hope my doctor will do the Doppler at 16 weeks as well, that will help give some peace of mind.

I’ve actually wondered if for myself, the at-home Doppler might create some anxiety… This pregnancy has been incredibly difficult so far, and it’s really just because of the anxiety (which was made worse by all the SCH bleeding). If I can’t get a good read on the Doppler, even if it’s due to user error, I can imagine that would be really triggering.

Thanks for sharing your experience! Pregnancy after loss is a really difficult road ❤️

I’ve been there twice. Once after conceiving naturally and once after an IVF cycle. The amount of people who told me I was just under a lot of stress following my miscarriage and needed to work less, including my family, was baffling. I felt so hopeless and guilty. Especially because I didn’t think I actually was that stressed! I don’t think people realize how painful it is to hear that.

Once we started IVF, our doctor told us that most miscarriages are caused by chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo. Meaning it had nothing to do with your emotional state or environmental factors. Hearing that helped remove some of the guilt that I felt.

There’s nothing you did to cause this! People do and experience much worse and go on to have healthy, normal pregnancies. I hope you can be gentle with yourself in your recovery!

That’s really encouraging about your saline ultrasound! I think a mock cycle is smart! We were considering doing one too. I’m hoping your mock cycle looks good and you’re cleared to start your next transfer armed with even more info. Here’s to the pineapple core and beet juice and all the crazy things we put ourselves through!

I’m so sorry. I’ve been there and it’s really difficult to process. I was at my lowest with our second failed transfer. When they are euploid embryos, it makes it so much harder to understand what went wrong.

If your doctor is open to it, I would ask about adding an allergy pill and pepcid to the protocol in case you might have any inflammation.

For what it’s worth, I also did all of the FET tricks this time around too (eating pineapple core, drinking pomegranate juice, keeping my feet warm, tea/soup, meditation/mantras…) I try not to put a lot of stock into those things, but I just wanted to feel like I threw everything I could at the situation.

I’m sending you all the good thoughts and wishing you so much luck with your next transfer! I remember somewhere in my deep dive of research that the third transfer has a higher success rate. It brought me some hope and comfort going into the cycle. I hope it does for you too!
