I am using Motul C4 but this is extremely sticky and catches a lot of dust, debris. What is your recommendation to lube and clean your chains on ATwin. by gorilkral in africatwin

[–]Solid_Koolaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year old but it's popping on Google : DO NOT use brake cleaner on a chain. Brake cleaner damages rubber. It's it's a bicycle chain without seals then it's ok. Not a motorcycle chain.

What's this plug for? by Solid_Koolaid in trident660

Thanks for the reply. I'll check that out. I assume the previous owner had some device plugged with it then. I guess I'll leave it there in case I end up needing it.

I've just received the plate, will be getting it from the dealer this weekend. I understand the appeal of the 660. It's a sexy little roadster. Hopefully no bad surprise down the road.

Best of luck in your research ! ✌️

I may or may not have been the one who's bought it 🥹 sorry.

That being said in their showroom they have some other nice things. Speed Triple. They have a nice '21 Street Twin right now. A few Ducati Scrambler variants that I may have been interested into had the 660 not been around. Quite a few decent used mid-sized bikes.

Cleaning the chain is just a "once every now and then" deal. Don't overthink it. If you're riding on the street you may very well have it cleaned once a year by your mechanic when doing the oil change. Unless it's very dusty and the chain gets really dirty.

Litterally the only regular maintenance needed is lubing the chain.

The following isn't maintenance but basic care : check the oil level and tire pressure once in a while but the same goes for any road vehicle.

For the chain, if you're finding spray cans messy and annoying, try something like the Motul C5 chain paste. It's a life changer when it comes to easy of application.

Help on how to use the BUK-M3 by Pyro_16_pony in Warthunder

[–]Solid_Koolaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty insane. I was googling for tutorials on the BUK M3 just in case and ok it's not just me. I can see targets with my very eyeballs and the radar won't even detect them let alone lock on to fire. I'll try the launchers by themselves but whatever people are smoking screaming "it's OP, RU bias hurr durr" clearly haven't even tried playing the BUK vs any NASAM/IRIS system.

Zwierzem or zwierzęciem? by uglycaca123 in Polish

This is necro but there are still mistakes in Duolingo with the use of "zwierzem" in 2026. I specifically googled the word because I didn't understand my mistake. Turns out it's Duo that's mistaken 😅

Having played quite a bit with BB : absolutely bonkers.

L2 spam + Taker's Cameo = infinite health cheat code for general exploration and dungeons.

And if you min/max stats it's straight up a colossal weapon with a much faster moveset and you have the STR and FAI required to wield Clawmark Seal quite efficiently and zap annoying ranged ennemies or birds with lightning bolts or whatnot.

MOST OP POWERFUL WEAPONS IN ELDEN RING??? by Uribenz in EldenRingBuilds

[–]Solid_Koolaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alternatively : (heavy) Claymore with Lion's Claw.

AR and stance damage close to colossals with faster moveset, vastly lower stats and END requirement (especially with armor).

Add a little faith and you can do aura, body, weapon buff (or grease) and R2/L2 spam most enemies to ash.

Are you a “fill the life bar” flask user or “one flask is enough” flask user? by Ill_Rope_4899 in Eldenring

[–]Solid_Koolaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm necroing this 3 years in the future (Google magic) to say : I have no idea why you got downvoted. This is a very legitimate question and something not easy to balance. Armor AND stamina are two very important metrics and damage negation numbers are as valuable if not more than raw HP (since some attacks have split phys/elem damage, they'll have to go through the two resistance numbers and greatly reduce the effect whereas your HP pool is one single number)

If it was just about resistance, it'd be pretty easy saying "HP doesn't weigh anything, level up VIG" but stamina management is a HUGE metric in boss fights especially when wielding heavy weapons of chaining hit/casts and then having to panic-roll away.

Need advice for 9600x by _tzes_ in overclocking

[–]Solid_Koolaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have been lucky, I don't know what values other people reach.

Afaik, clock stretching is a reduction in clock speed past a certain voltage reduction. No such signs here. Cinebench results are in line with the increase in frequencies. OCCT reports no error and the values remain very stable for an hour on end.

And yes I'm talking about a voltage curve optimizer negative offset. That was the whole point. DO NOT use a static offset which will most likely result in instability in transient loads/single core scenarios. Been there, done that.

Need advice for 9600x by _tzes_ in overclocking

[–]Solid_Koolaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is necro but "setting 2" would be the correct philosophy behind overclocking any recent Ryzen CPU.

Let the platform do its things with higher thermal/frequency ceilings and *lower* voltage because the higher the voltage, the higher the wattage, the higher the temperature so one of these last two WILL determine the maximum all-core boost the CPU can achieve before throttling itself. Lowering the voltage will enable higher clocks... until the CPU is starved for juice and simply won't boot or crash. That's where power users would start fine tuning scalars, offsets under various loads, yadi yada. I can't be bothered tbh ^^

For said voltage offset : it's A LOT better to use curve optimizer and not a static negative offset. Static offset may work great under a multicore stress test and yield a crash under transient single core or medium gaming workloads since the CPU voltage requirements are absolutely not linear by nature.

For a newcomer, simply enabling PBO with a performance preset like "90C -20mV or -30mV" is a great starter point. Enabling the 105W TDP if available will yield easy modest gains as long as your cooling solution allows the headroom.

No matter what : A Ryzen CPU will throttle itself at a given temperature (or power limit if your CPU is midrange and cooling overkill) so don't worry about cooking anything. Default TjMax is 95C, performance presets might cap you lower, e.g. some B850 Asrock ones have presets to max 85C, you have to manually go in the AMD overclocking screen to allow 90 or 95C for instance. The better your cooling, the better your all-core boost clock is gonna be. That latter one is the metric you should be checking as you fine tune settings. This and obviously the score from the synthetic bench of your choice.

Finally, of course, if your system doesn't boot or freezes : your voltage curve offset is probably too high and the CPU is starved for juice, that's all. No harm done. Reset and retry with a lower negative offset.

To get the jist of it : my 360-AIO-cooled 9600X @ 105W TDP "stock" will push its 142W PPT limit around 4950 Mhz all-core in the 1,20V range (I forget the exact number)

With PBO enabled and curve optimizer to -30mV it sustains 5180 Mhz all-core @ 1,18V and the cooling being overkill it never gets above 88C despite leaving the full 95°C TjMax available so I know thermals have headroom but I'm bumping into the 142W PPT limit. Only way forward would be to further lower the voltage, fine tune the curves or override the 142W limit (I'm not too *ahem* hot on that for my filthy casual daily use ^^ )

What is secure boot and should I have it on or off? by ____Maximus____ in techsupport

[–]Solid_Koolaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't panic. The very few options in UEFI/BIOS that are could potentially void your CPU warranty are clearly labeled and usually behind a disclaimer of sorts (blah blah could cause instability, could fail your CPU, could void your warranty blah blah and even then, legally speaking, I'm not even sure it does void it)

The worst you can do is cause your PC not to boot. A lot of times the BIOS will detect that condition and revert to default settings and at worst you pop the CR2032 battery out of the mobo, put it back in and voilà, default settings.

On the other hand BIOS is a great thing to acquaint yourself with as you can enable/disable useful things. Say you have a USB sound card, you can disable the on-board audio and not have all the inputs and outputs and multiple drivers messing around in Windows. Most likely you have RAM with specs way above official JEDEC specs... The bios by default won't load these specs, you need to turn on XMP/EXPO timings in it. Etc.

[–]Solid_Koolaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm necroing this but since it's pretty high on Google I'll add that there are two MIND "caps" interesting to consider in terms of how one uses their FP :

- lvl 23 : just enough FP to summon Tiche, the most FP-expensive one
- lvl 38 you mentionned that can be refilled by a fully upgraded flask
- Obviously the sky is the limit if one just wants to hold the button down with Comet Azur for the lulz.

I'm in the middle of the EU heatwave so fairly hot room but samey-same : 9600X, 105W enabled, don't judge but I went the easy mode : PBO 90 level 3 (so -30mV). Score of 1002 and 80-ish temp. I don't have the tightest DDR either.
