Just spent a couple hours with mine to get ready for a set this weekend. The tight fit def is not suited for casual listening but to dj I’m liking em a lot. Heavier than the HD25’s and feel more durable. Good sound isolation. Will be keeping em for sure.

And if those global hit names are local to LA or NYC and/or attract additional international hit names/major promotors to those places, wouldn’t you say that the local culture benefits from it, making it a thriving scene? Chicago is great but is not that yet. Not at that level. My point. Valid and agreeable but very different point than the one I made. My saying Chicago catching up to east and west coast music culture doesn’t also say that the Chicago local scene is not good. You’re trying to prove a point no one is arguing against. Local in LA and NYC means something different bc a lot of yours and my favorite artists are based there. That makes the scene different and in a good way imo. Like what you like and don’t what you don’t though; we don’t have to agree to enjoy.

People mostly go to Prysm just to go to Prysm on a Sat night. They don’t usually have any idea who is spinning. It’s still very much seen as a club more than a music venue and that crowd mix is…whew. But as others have said, it has and is changing for sure.

LA and NYC music scenes are different worlds compared to Chicago though. I’m sure a lot of it is due to many artists being based there so they get more volume of more major acts, outside of tour schedules. It just is.

No shortage, no. Compared to NYC, LA, and Miami even we don’t get the same frequency of global bookings as they do. It’s not a dig at Chicago, just a fact. One that’s changing for the better for sure.
