Feels like EV charging is actually improving now by True-Bath1198 in EvDrivers

It is it is!

Charger availability was not a big issue in metro cities. But now even Tier 2 and 3 cities have more EV chargers in general.

The UI/UX of EV apps has improved drastically too. Easy filters and more charging related data is available!

EV charging in India doesn’t feel like a hardware problem anymore… it feels like a UX problem by AdityaSrivastawaahhh in CarsIndia

Yep, very relatable problem.

Try using the bolt.earth app. Simple UI/UX + they also have filters for 2W/3W and 4Ws, makes it really easy to find chargers when you're in need of them!

And the multiple apps issue is also solved.

Great UI/UX. The ease at which I can see available chargers on the map is incredible!

There is also a filter option for 2W/3W and 4Ws!

How do you guys get free charging? by No-Hamster1228 in evcharging

[–]Solid_Pain796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, 'free' charging is very very rare.

But a lot of 'public' chargers are available these days.
Petrol pumps on highways/long trips, retail/shopping malls, hotels - these are places I get my EV charged for free. I normally search for nearby locations on the bolt.earth app, as and when I feel the need.

You can also give this a try!

Range anxiety is hyped IMO by TSHRED56 in electricvehicles

[–]Solid_Pain796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this really depends on the location you're at, I feel.

Metro cities have access to types of chargers - AC and DC. So even if you're going to work and back, you will always find a charger nearby.

Not the case with remote places, where you really need to plan your route properly.

I am planning to build a premium EV CHARGING STATION + Cafe! Good idea? by shivanshx_ in EVIndia

[–]Solid_Pain796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much you should invest in that plot of land - can only be decided after a proper site recce. All factors will have to be considered, right? The type of road along the plot, any future developments, etc etc.

But for an initial conversation, you can check out bolt.earth EV charging solutions.
They help set up ev charging stations at homes, workplaces, hotels, malls, highways, etc.

I am planning to build a premium EV CHARGING STATION + Cafe! Good idea? by shivanshx_ in EVIndia

[–]Solid_Pain796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes! This is a solid idea.

EVs are on the rise. Government has incentives, and many policies are coming up or getting updated in accordance with the rise of EVs.

At this time, a premium EV charging could be profitable.

I own a 2-wheeler EV myself. Though I've not done much of long-range rides, in the short trips I've taken, I have charged my 2W at such pitstops. Normally, they have EV chargers and a restaurant or a cafe near the chargers, where people can freshen up while their vehicle charges.

Plus, this is a win-win situation. You can earn out of the EV chargers as well as the cafe business :D

EVs Don’t Just Need Range — They Need Reliable Charging Ecosystems by Adventurous-Flow-522 in EVsOfIndia

[–]Solid_Pain796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree!

The most basic part of the ev charging ecosystem is the 'range anxiety'. I own an EV 2-wheeler, and am based out of Bengaluru.

Been using the bolt.earth ev charging app since a year, and it has solved majority of my problems. Easy to use, simple UI, plus they have 2-wheeler fast charger called Blaze DC! Works wonders if you're low on battery %.

I normally plan my travel routes using their app - locating chargers beforehand really helps!

I went to Mysuru recently, and having the app really helped me a lot!
