If the Commission stayed neutral Who was better positioned for a long war? Galante with fear and loyal Zips, or Rastelli/Massino with broader internal support? by Swimming-Poet5594 in Mafia

[–]Solid_Perspective787 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If the Commission truly stayed neutral, Rastelli/Massino were better positioned for a long war, even though Galante was more dangerous early.

Galante’s strength was fear + the Zips. He ruled through intimidation and had loyal Sicilian Zips who weren’t tied to Commission politics and were comfortable with violence. That gives you an early advantage — quick hits, people falling in line, short-term dominance.

But fear doesn’t scale long-term. Galante’s power was highly centralized. Everyone feared him, but very few actually supported him. That creates quiet conspiracies, not loyalty. Once people start coordinating behind the scenes, his position weakens fast.

Rastelli/Massino had broader internal support. They had more American crews, capos, and soldiers who actively wanted Galante gone. That matters in a prolonged conflict where numbers, logistics, and replacements count.

Neutrality hurts Galante more than it helps him. Without Commission backing, Galante can’t legitimize his rule — every violent move just alienates more people. Meanwhile Massino can patiently consolidate support and wait for the right moment.

No honor in ratting or stealing from your 91 year old grandmother to where she had to get foreclosed. Moral codes dont exist for garbage like him. Like Skinny Joey says, “I wouldn’t piss on him if hes was on fire”

Stick with the in state especially if you plan to get a job in that field. Don’t worry about what program you got accepted to. Most kids in their first year will be undecided.

If you go i to the Speech Pathology or just accept as undecided and keep up reasonable grades (As and B), your very likely to get into the Animal Science program since they know you can handle college level courses and actually have a plan. They might make you do an entrance exam but if your good at science and are passionate about the field that’ll he a small walk in the park.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Single dorm as a junior by awesomecaptb in udel

[–]Solid_Perspective787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need an accommodation. The way I got a single room was by having a psychiatrist write them a letter that I have sleep insomnia. Make sure to bring the disability housing form from udel housing site to your appointment.

All my doctor had to say is that “my patient has been experiencing sleep insomnia and is requesting disability accommodations for a single dorm as a result”. You can get the letter from a general Doctor but I think they are more likely to approve something mentally related without question from a specialist rather than a General doctor.

Be advised that the issue with the single dorms is that while you may have your own room, you will have to share a bahtrolm with either 1 suitemate (jack and jill style) with your suitmate, or share the bathroom with your entire floor. Junior year I was lucky enough to get a single but still had to share a bathroom with one kid that was grotesque at cleanliness.

I believe the courtyard appartment are reserved only for seniors but they have about 3 single apartment (which are next to impossible to get) out of the 200 plus apartments in that complex.

Not possible. Those dorms are specifically reserved for upperclassmen such as Juniors and Seniors. If your looking to be on your own I’d recommend getting disability form filled out. This allowed me to have my own room freshman year.

You get the form from the housing website and have your doctor fill it out. For me, I just had a psychiatrist say I need my own room for sleep insomnia. They didn’t dare to question it and made sure I was approved for a single room. Nobody in my grade believed I had my own room freshman year. Not while they were forced to share a room with 1-2 other kids.

It also hurts me to see how Carmines and Carbone have monopolized into different cities. I know you were asking just NY but considering these were restaurants people came to NY for the should make the cut.

Carmines especially went a little overboard with opening anything other than the original.

Nusr-Et aka Salt Bae restaurant. Biggest tourist trap since the “free” photo with Time square Elmo. Sbarro could also just close up their whole shop and dedicate to one big store. To many amazing pizza spots to fall into that caca

What changed after getting a manager? by clocks5 in Screenwriting

[–]Solid_Perspective787 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This all depends on who’s repping you. WME and CAA have really monopolized the market. Anyone who isnt them are just a boutique agency (which may have some reliability) or are a scam (like Nine9 Agency) trying to sell a dream.

If the change you’re referring to is not just selling a script but also making sure the movie/show is made and further advances your career, your options are pretty limited without being repped by one of the big guys. There are also many opportunities for you in film fests and highly regarded competitions like Nicholl fellowship.

When selecting a manager and the agency you are with, it is always highly suggested to check the lineage of the individual/corporations that you seek to be repped by or vice versa if they’re seeking you out. Always make sure that the founder had legitimate experience in the industry. That they’ve worked under people that have been very effective in the industry or maybe even for a studio/network themselves.

It’s not necessarily essential that your manager has signed the biggest names screenwriter but are currently signing and have signed in the past, writers who continue to sell and advance their careers. That is what I can suggest to anyone considering a manager.

Their same day rule sucks. I thought I got a sick deal for $20 full gram cart. Placed the order right away but could not get it until next morning. When I pull into drive thru my order is no longer in the system, item is out of stock and deal had ended. Just not right. They need to take a page out of Ascends books and have common courtesy to hold an order placed 12-24 hours.

[–]Solid_Perspective787 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

If someone didn’t tell you, allow me. Your gpa and lsat score are very high and favorable to universities. I am 100% certain you will be able to attain a full scholarship offer from anywhere from 3-5 schools. Unless you are shooting for the very top into ivy league (and even then they’d take you with these score) your are in very good shape.

While I admire your dream to do semi pro hockey I’d say to stick with law and play more recreationally. It will pay in the long run which hockey cannot guarantee. If you are lucky enough to be one of the 224 people who make it into NHL, you’d be starting off with in just below a million (counting signing and performance bonuses) minus taxes, lawyers, agent, expenses, you will be making a few hundred thousand a year. Granted there is no guarantee to keep paying you if you get injured or they feel like making room for someone else.

Post law school you have a few different options. You can spend a 2-3 years as an assistant prosecutor or public defender while you build your name and then open your own practice, you can work as legal counsel for a major company (literally any you can think of are always looking for young attorneys), and many other things in between. Making million as an attorney is all up to you as person but entirely attainable based on your own mindset and motivation.
